----EDIT/UPDATE--- The problem is now fixed! Thanks to deepseaweed I found the cause of the problem. Turns out In was being a silly Billy 😳

Hello, I'm making a game in Gamermaker 8. It all seems to be going well, but when I send it to my brother to test, he says the mouse pointer won't move rendering the game unplayable. I've tried it on 4 computers 3 of which are win7 and one xp, and none of them have a problem at all. I'm convinced somethings happening along the way to corrupt his version of the game but it' really irritating me now, so I would love to get some good people to test it for me.. My brother lives in another city btw, so I can't just go round his house and look what's going on.

Soooo, if there's anyone kind enough to test it I would be very grateful indeed, and will even include you in the credits when it's done. The project is still pretty young but I plan to complete it within a few months.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll pm you a link to my dropbox. It's a great game so far. Here are some details--

Title: Space Malarkey

Genre: Side scrolling shooter/point and click adventure with rpg elements

I may look like an idiot trying to find virus victims, so I understand if you want to avoid me like the plague 😆

Thanks!

Least you are trying to make something, I never tried Gamemaker series of engines. How easy has it been to learn?

If I wasn't knee deep in trying to test out and convert SSC website I would give this a spin for a few hours.

Hi DarkOne, I think it's incredibly easy for the simle stuff actually. I have no prgramming knowledge whatsoever, and even I can create a functioning (or perhaps mal-functioning) game!

There's literally only about 15 mins of gameplay at the moment, so please feel to try it. Let me know if you have a spare couple of mins. It's really just a demo at present, as there's a ton of content in there but only about 20% is playable yet. The finished game will be sort of a free roaming side scrolling shooter with point and click adventure parts wandering around your ship between battles. You'll be able to spend your hard earned cash on new outfits for your character etc.

Wow, this is crazy looking, did you make all the art as well, or are you borrowing assets?! Will you make your own sprites?

Yep it's all my own sprites, sounds and music. I've actually redone a lot of the art since these screenies, and added drop shadow to everything giving the game a bit of a South Park style paper cutout look! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
