Take your time. When you have something I can test :).
If you want to play scout+ on your Mac I see two immediate options: (1) download pioneer, copy in the ships, skyboxes, icons, cpanel, modules, etc. from scout+ that you want. They're all in the data/ directory; or (2) download scout+ source from github and compile it on your mac. It can then be distributed to other mac players.
On another note, just for fun, taking download statistics over the past 50 days for GNU/Linux and Windows, and over the past 180 days for OSX (days since last release):
- Windows: 74.2 downloads/day
- GNU/Linux: 18.1 downloads/day
- OSX: 6.42 downloads/day
Or, extrapolated to estimated downloads per year: 27 083, 6606, and 2344, respectively. This excludes moddb (for Windows), and compiling directly from master, or using pre-built packages (for GNU/Linux, e.g. Fedora).
Thanks I will try when I have some free time.
@fluffyfreak Not worry, just check if it works in Pioneer vanilla; Scout+ is my responsibility. 😉
Hi waterar. I downloaded the files of the test you want met to do but still haven't got the time to do it. Next weekend I have some free time. Will try then.
Hey guys, just discovered PioneerSS yesterday and compiled and played the latest version (build: 20161129 on the main menu) on my mac via homebrew.
I am currently cloning Scout+ off github, but I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing (I spent a good 3 hours trying to figure out just how to start SS until realizing all I had to do was type "pioneer" in terminal xD). If I somehow fandangle a way of playing S+ I will defo share how I did it!
I also did try to play the windows binary of SS via wine and crossover when I was trying alternative approaches, and encountered that same openGL error.
