frankie was a great performer i maybe just didn't like the style to much.
that was, excuse me, a very unlucky thing that a lot even black jazz singers covered (had to cover) his style because of his success.
i think especially about Nat Cole, Nat was a brillant jazzer but in my humble opinion they made a fidget (sort a pinocchio) out of him.
music is something very personal and it reflects our true feelings, longings and disappointments.

for those who didn't knew it already, i had a brain stroke last year and a half ago,
no need to feel sorry, that's life, i still wear my smile and can make children happy with the wink of my eye.
(eh, i guess that's what "my way" is about, isn't it?)

sorry that i had to pause a few weeks,
but i was physically exhausted.
as you might knew i worked in this reintegration (a way to get back to real payed work).
they decided to move me from the cycles to recycling (funny coincidence in english from cycle to re - cycle).
and well i felt powerful enough, i thought no problem i was a construction worker
but disregarded that i didn't worked physically for almost 10 years and the fact of the "wallenberg syndrome"
which disabled me more as i liked to accept.
this strained me a lot and i have many new physical problems due to that work and the former brain stroke.

fortunately only a "wallenberg syndrome" which means only the brainstem was affected and this harms not a lot
further it's recoverable since the brainstem is a very basic part which functions are exchangable.
still i have parts on my body where i have no sensitivity and neither feel my own body well,
which resultet in a wrong pose and wrong walking which affected me more as the syndrome itself.
still i can't differ between cold and hot on certain parts of my skin if i don't know in advance if it's cold or hot.

however "never give up" as soon as you do - eh you know what will happen.
mom is still alive and well and who knows maybe she outlasts me
she's still well i guess because she feels i need her, thus i never let her feel that i din't need her,
in fact i really need her.

maybe also i get weaker because i feel no one needs me anymore, who knows, but it's vital for a human to be needed
by someone close.

yep "Gernötli" get's to a sort of hunchback, i just need now the googely eyes of mr. sellers to be complete
oh yes i lost my incisors because of - guess what - a sort of fight,
nah not really a fight, he's still my best buddy but i was driving him crazy because i was drunk,
that drunk that i completely lost control and i started to rant,
ranted that much that all the neighbours came to watch what was happening
still i didn't respected nothing and well...
the only way to stop me was to hit me
he hitted me several times in the chest (that's the only thing i remember)
but i just laughed at him and said "it won't hurt, buddy"
thus he hitted me right in the face which was righteously done by him.
this finally stopped me
and i wondered while i was walking back home where i lost my teeth...

it's a classic situation of a typical mens buddyship 🙂

have you ever heard of "FRAKTUS"?
it's a german band from the 80's and they was known as inventors of what we call now techno but have got lost over the time.
they reunited in 2011 and successfuly touring through germany.

i started to read a few sci-fi in the last months

one shouldn't think "i know this story i haven't to read it"
especially in the case for "War of Worlds"
i guess a lot of ppl think this in case for this old story
it was the plot for countless movies and persiflage of,
thus one could easy miss the original.

i've read it now and it still moves me
imho it's the best sci-fi ever
not only because it's the first real sci-fi, compared to verne's which are more adventure stories rather sci-fi.
because it contains every element of what you expect of a thrilling sci-fi.
many things i like on this novel
it's written from the pov of the outgoing 19th century, no retrospective, it's written by someone who lived in this time.
it's a horror to read the story, no alien has ever topped the creatures from mars
no brainsucking monster could be as horrible as they are
mainly because you recognise the fact that we are these monsters
we are the ones who treat the animals and even our own species like the marsians treat us.
it's philosophic and the protagonist is a philosopher
(which is a little annoying guessing that someone who uses to take a little walk at 9 o clock in the morning and who's profession is to read books, standing all this inhuman horrible things, but else h.g. wells couldn't show us the philosophical background of the story)
it's far not as simple as any of the movies which has been made based on it.
there is no "god's justice" or such, just those evil creatures from mars
the author leaves you for a long time in the dark if we will survive this attack,
it's rather very plausible that we will be enslaved
and sheeple as we are we will take this fate and bear it like a cross.
imagine a human race bred just to be food for the marsians
and we won't - we can't fight back - or even we won't
because we sheeple are happy if we have some food and sex (and a good shit in the morning)
that religion will find a "plausible" explanation why we have to bear this cross.

it totally kills the idea that we are the crown of creation
and let's us appear as stupid uncultivated beings.

in the end you wish it wouldn't have turned out well for human kind
and that the by us tortured mother nature will save us.

i knew the story (somewhat)
still i was surprised by the unexpected death of the marsians.
that's a damned good story!

some background why i readed this book
for the last few weeks of my work in the "work and tech centre"
i worked in recycling
it was hard to keep my hands off all the electronics which came in
especially that i knew my old computer is worse as some which i had to trash (i had to!).
but hardest was to keep my hands off all the books.
thus books, forbidden to take or not, i grabbed for myself
of course "War of Worlds" attracted me
a illustrated books about animal species (collected stuff from the 19th century)

when i lived in little big city (zürich), i wen't regulary friday night to a club called "abarth"
i never knew who plays, 3 bands usually and everything was rock in a wider range today's rock avantgarde one could say,
that's a proofed way to listen to crafty rock music.
and i'm sure such a club is to find in every city, zürich is a small city.
but i understand not everybody lives in a city or close to or has the right money,
if the club is next door to you it's easy.

thus it's really not true that "such music isn't to find anymore".

i guess the title tells all, no i didn't know this game, but will for sure look out for it.
sounds pretty funny on the small speakers i have connected to the notebook.
i did it twice today, i first filled the head of a guy on disqus who dared to ask how the dinosaurs started to fly and actually why didn't all animals can fly, i guess he's a creationist.
and then i filled your head with almost the same topic 🙂

what i like to post and had already in mind, is one for my buddy phil.

if i'm not playing pioneer and do not work on phoenix i have another favorite (or two), one of them is "Streets of Simcity" which i like much and to which i added new hand-edited racetracks. the tracks are "simply" SC2000 cities. "simply", it needs some experience to build or grow cities which are suitable for a race, i prefere growed cities because you won't place the buildings in the same way a city grows even if that is a sort of "starter town" which grows from a complete zoned citymap. the cities i created last spring are special "race cities" kinda "rollercoaster" strip some cities are build along a long track and have little or no crossings. important is to me that the track goes up and downhill often and includes some tricky passages because the race scenarios are a little "dumb" respectively the AI is dumb. i did my best to edit the output of the scenario creator which is unfortunately limited to a simple race. it would be possible to spawn police or crooks along the road but that's quite tricky if you don't know the exact commands for this and the rotten scenario file is a binary which didn't makes it easier to modify it.
however, i managed it to spawn crooks or other traffic (not in this scenario) and to release certain events (like the applause you can hear) when you pass a certain tile or area of the map.

the game runs with the help of dgVoodoo very well on my win10 x64 notebook, that good that i won't need any other helping application to run that old tard, which is uncommon for a win 95 game. dgVoodoo makes a good job and i expect it won't have looked this brillant on a win95 even with an Voodoo graphics accelerator card or you would have had to spent quite a lot of money to reach this in 1996/97.

the music in this clip (that's why i present it here) is from "Astrosmash" (composer/musician) which is certainly the right music for this "Intellivision" race track. it's an ode to Intellivision on an ode to MAXIS' SC2K.
