I did a search on this forum and found no results for this game. It seems to me to be a Freelancer mix with a bit of Starpoint Gemini.
It's just hit early access on Steam, I bought it the other day but have not played much of it yet, reminds me of "the Tomorrow War"
I haven't looked too much into this game yet, but looks pretty good. I hate sometimes how people give negative comments on a game that is alpha/early access.... its not done yet. But from the trailer on Steam it does look like it has a lot of the aspects people look for. I am interested in the building of a force and what that entails if you don't choose a side to fight for.
It's a very ambitious game but it look like it only being done by a single developer and the old question come up as to weather he can achieve his goal.
THE game has been getting plenty of patches but still seems to be bedeviled by bugs.Think I will just let this one update for a few more weeks before playing it.
I've played it and I have not had any big problems so far.
Let us know what you think about it Almostpilot.
Did you post something Almostpilot then delete it as it says theirs a post awaiting moderation but theirs no post.?
So far so good...really good!
I took care of it Pinback 🙂 It was an issue of the wrong tags for image posting.
Have spent a few hours playing it and so far, their are a few things which I have issues with, I don't like having to keep the "W" key pressed to make the ship go forward. it also has a double control system where you have to use an auto pilot to move around the solar system, this involves clicking on a target in auto pilot mode, then clicking on a button to warp to the target.
It appear this has been done because the game is not an open world/sandbox game but more level based one and each level has to be loaded in, mabe something to do with the use of the unreal game engine. but it does give rise to a lot of clicking then waiting as an warp anmation plays then the level loads in.
Their is no leading target reticle or match target speed key in the space combat and it's amazing that developers are still making these type of game without this feature, as I would have thought this would be pretty standard for any game with space combat.
look like some optimization is need as some of the space mission seem to run very fast while other run more slowly, but given that this is an early access game it prabably will be corrected at some point.
Having said that the game does look promising and they have posted a road map of future features https://steamcommunity.com/app/732240/discussions/0/1730963192556105962/ but as it is being done a single dev, it will remine to be seen if these addition feature appear.
Edit- their maybe a leading target reticle as I just spotted the small yellow triangle, trouble is I'm at that point in the game where you have get through the hidden jump gate using the clocking device, and I keep getting killed.
New update and content on the way for the game. https://steamcommunity.com/games/732240/announcements/detail/1699440530941207383
Spacebourne got a pretty big update, not try it myself yet but they seem to have changed and added a number of things to the game. https://steamcommunity.com/games/732240/announcements/detail/1707323732791706221
Some strange goings on with SpaceBourn as they have roll back the update to fix an unspecified problem. https://steamcommunity.com/games/732240/announcements/detail/1707323732806960191
The game has been getting a lot updates over the last month of so https://steamcommunity.com/games/732240/announcements/detail/3141722213663717779 which has changed and added content to the game.
Think I will start a new game and have another go at it over the Christmas break.
Going to hold off playing it again as the dev has said he working on big update for Jan https://steamcommunity.com/app/732240/discussions/0/1743355067094727803/ plus it look like he going to let the scroll wheel control the ship speed.
New vid of some the feature in the upcoming Ver 1.1.6 update to the game
Still waiting for the update, although according to the Steam forum it may drop this week.
Otherwise not much going on.
The new update has dropped today, a hefty 1.4 GB https://steamcommunity.com/games/732240/announcements/detail/1761375175743509760
New Feature is the Dynamic Economic System and an added sandbox game mode I'm going wait for the first hotfix as I expect their will be some bug given the size of this update.
Games getting it's second hotfix tomorrow.
Going to take another crack at this at the weekend, see how I get on with it.
This game seems to be very interesting...the idea it's fantastic!
Putted it in my steam wishlist for the future! I only hope it will not be the classic "forever earle access" game of steam.
Was supposed to be out of early access at the end of Dec.
Been having a play around with it and I don't like the flight model in this game, I thought having to hold the "W" key to move forward all the time had been fixed and the different flight modes which can be set in the options appear to make no difference in the game.
Will continue to play around with it as I may be doing something wrong.
Another big update to the game with 4 more planets to explore, although that's just a level set on a planet and not a full planet like no man sky ect. https://steamcommunity.com/games/732240/announcements/detail/1806411803619643750
Spacebourne has had another bit content added to the game. https://steamcommunity.com/games/732240/announcements/detail/1808665064428803446
Update last week and a look back at what has been added/ fixed sofar https://steamcommunity.com/games/732240/announcements/detail/1808665064428782383
Unfortunately I find the control of the flight model and the endless loading between arears to be too annoying. I would guess this down to the game engine used, which is a shame because it does have some promise.
