Hey guys - an update - I did a pod cast with Space Game Junkie - Void Destroyer - The Dark Souls of Space Games?

 

If you are interested in the indie development process, indie life, the thoughts of someone crazy enough to try this and the game itself - it is a neat listen. A conversation is a lot less dry then text on the screen.

Love the look of the game, just back it in the $12 one, would of done more but moneys very tight, lets hope you reach that goal 🙂

I don't think he said how much over the targets the stretch goals are although he did say that they would be worked on after the the main game is released.

Yeah I'm planning on holding a discussion with the backers on stretch goals soon - hopefully today's update.

 

 

The idea is to get some kind of a consensus on the most exciting stretch goals and balance that with the most realistic and then come up with an order.

 

 

 

Either way I'll be updating the project, the funding determines what I add - in terms of - do I have the art to add it. Privateer mode would need a lot of art - bases, stations, new ships (factions, pirates, civilians) etc.

Paul has posted the update with stretch goals and how much each one may cost.

 

Potential Stretch Goals:

Modding tools: 

Add on to the Battle Editor allowing for importing, copying, exporting object XML files in a graphical - in game - way - eg: drag a turret to position it on a ship, click on the ship to set its health and other parameters.

Estimated Price tag: $5k - 1 month of contractor coding.

ETA: prior to release

----

Ship cockpits:

3D meshes/objects and 2D HUD/GUI elements.

Estimated Price Tag: $5k (aprox 20 unique models at ~$200 per model + 2D art)

ETA: near release (most likely post)

----

EVA Suit/Marine: 

Lightly animated FPS character model. For ship to ship boarding actions (external/space) and added immersion.

Estimated Price Tag; ~$1,000 - 3D model (and some variants) + animations

ETA: at release

----

Additional Pirate Faction:

Additional enemies to fight in game, added immersion and variety of enemies.

Estimated Price Tag; $5K- ships, bases, stations and assorted elements.

ETA: at release

----

FPS Base boarding elements:

During base invasions take control over a mecha/droid to aid your forces in capturing the base.

Estimated Price Tag; $40k - 20-30 FPS animated FPS characters, plus additional props (weapons, turrets etc) and interiors.

ETA: post release (aprox 3-6 months - eta also depends on artists)

'Privateer' mode:

Alternate game mode, less focused on combat, more focused on exploration, trading and ownership.

Estimated Price Tag; $40k - more ships, stations, bases and various assets.

ETA: post release (aprox 3-6 months - eta also depends on artists)

Accelerated Multiplayer Mode:

Full time work on multiplayer elements.

Estimated Price Tag; $120k - to feel comfortable going full time.

ETA: 6 months to 1 year post release.

Source Code (non-commercial license):

Source code released 6 months post release.Ensures project future - post Paul.

Price Tag; $300k - letting my baby loose onto the world

I'm just going to say it early, congrats on getting funded Chaosavy (less than $250 left). Your hard work has paid off and your going to now see the dream come true and get your game released to the masses.
