RSI published this video to show how squadron 42 is progressing in development. Visually it looks good, and the aliens look good too. No mention of release date so obviously its not going to be ready in 2020 😉

I read that it was made using the game engine, but think they should have used more gameplay rather than having the camera fly around, but that might have been the idea as it's a teaser vid.

Certainly some reworked ships there, which isn't before time as they have a large backlog of ships still to bring into the build and many existing ships still have long standing issues too.

They just simply took on too much all at once.... I haven't counted the amount of ships but they have to be near 100 in total. That alone is a huge amount of work to do to make them them, animate them and style them. The enemy ships do have a Kilrathi style to them which is a plus imo, and I hope we get to see more of that and more reveal on the plot of the story. I thought when I built my PC I would be ready to play this when it came out, but I think I will need to upgrade again in two more years to handle these games.

I just hope they had fixed the boarding issue that I had trying to get into my orion, I was so mad that a ship that came out in the first released alpha of the game was still buggy, when I load up SC soon I hope your right Geraldine and they have fixed some of these issues.

SQ42 is looking decent and there was talk this also might be episodic, which is okay if they can get them out quick enough.... you can't make us wait years for the next episode 🙂
