Are savegames update-safe so they survive newer versions of the game?
Batmump, I’m not sure what you’re trying to do. If you want to install Genesia or Scout+ you open the .7z file and copy the folder that’s inside to a location of your choice. You could put it on your desktop if you wish. Genesia and Scout+ are not mods, they are separate stand alone games based on Pioneer. Open the folder you extracted and run the executable file inside. The game should run and make the folders for mods and savegames, etc. The location of your mods folder varies with the game you’re running and your operating system. If you post that info, I’m sure somebody can help you out but you can probably just run a search for it. Mods are always in .zip format. If you’re trying to convert .7z to .zip you’re doing something wrong.
Hope this helps! 🙂
Thanks, Marcel, stand alone, that was one of the info I needed
For the rest, I asked because I have a narrowband Internet connection. 100mb last for me a good hour. Therefore, it is important to me, what I first look at me and down load it. It is not nice to have to explain to his questions must .. I’m going to actually have to download and watch both. Sorry for my English
The last ship I used was an Adder. Hmm, it might actually depend on the type of vessel?
Hmm, I hope that I can practice soon …
RobN, we need the alpha 14th .. : o)robn wrote:batmump wrote:Hey RobN I can understand that you defend your game project, and rightly so. Nevertheless, I pray you to reconsider the Starmap.
You haven’t given me anything to reconsider. Give me something and I’ll think about it.
I am moving now in a huge ball 3d, but only a small area is visible. There is a difference if I have a 3d surface that I explore or a huge cloud in the places you do not remember can intuitively, even if I have a search function. In addition, it is not immediately apparent at first glance whether the system is in range or not. I must always turn first.robn wrote:batmump wrote:So when I look at the new 3d map, then I know why at that time at Frontier and FFE this concept was rejected (it was also planned). It has no usability and much too cluttered.
If you’d like to provide specific examples and use cases where usability has decreased over the previous version we’d be very interested to hear it.
I’ve already written
Hey RobN I can understand that you defend your game project, and rightly so. Nevertheless, I pray you to reconsider the Starmap.Brianetta wrote:One advantage: It’s a thing of beauty.
Most stars aren’t visible on the 2D map either, until you started to scroll around. In fact, almost all of them are invisible in both maps.
yes true but only in the old map had to serve only two axes. There was no one star “escape”
So when I look at the new 3d map, then I know why at that time at Frontier and FFE this concept was rejected (it was also planned). It has no usability and much too cluttered. There helps a search function any more. Think about it. It’s not always about finding a target. It’s also about exploring everything. Well now many systems by the broad representation of 3d are not at first visible. Name me one advantage of this new star map, the reason is that they will now into the game. Says not now, “it is more realistic!” Sometimes they just such a reason is too thin
Thank you for your answers. I had written something misleading. A new forum is not absolutely necessary but a small sub-forum I think is good and standards for such projects. But well, as long as you you for such a step can not struggle through, you have to endure just such bad english outbreaks; o)
@ Geraldine, thank you, yes it is rare that I even notifying me somewhere but if it is similar to what elite and even with such a brilliant project, then I can not control myself.
Now, first test the new Alpha 13 … looking forward
and… sorry for my bad english
