I remember these Pinback. Pretty sure I have both in my Amiga archive. Not bad as far as I recall but Captain Blood still won out against it for just being totally weird at times!

A bunch of classics here on the cheap if you get them all in one bundle

All good and fair points folks! For my sins, I too am a Star Citizen backer from the kickstarter days. I think D1 and me backed at the exact same time for the same ship, the 300i? I have expanded my ship roster since then, nothing compared to how deep some I know have but still, enough. Certainly more than I gave to FD for Elite and FD to be honest was the more deserving of the two, back then and even more so now because their game has been out there for a good few years and getting better all the time because they focussed on the gameplay first and worried about the details later. That was something that concerned me about Star Citizen even back at the beginning in 2013 when Elite was already implementing their first Alpha builds that were shockingly rock solid. I know this because I was there! 😀

2014 came and went, the supposed original launch date of Star Citizen but backers were promised a much bigger game if they waited. Well here in 2019 they are still waiting. 2020-2021 is now thought to be the dates when a Beta of Star Citizen might see the light of day but I still think that is wildly optimistic. There are supposed to be 100 systems in this game with tons of handcrafted detail. Unless they have seriously been hiding stuff they have completed from the backers for some reason, I just can’t see them making the 2021 date. To me at least, this game is in trouble but it isn’t too late to turn things around if they put in a massive effort in reorganising everything they do. There are some really talented devs at CIG spread throughout the studios they have. I think the senior management need to let these folks fly and do what needs to be done to see this game finished.

As for their marketing department, well,………………..I respect D1’s forum too much to say what I really think about them. However, let me just say I don’t think much of them at all or their policies and leave it at that.

NMS was mentioned and there folks is how you fix a major screw up; by sheer hard work. Sean Murray and Hello Games have earned my respect again for coming out and being honest with their games fans. They listened, they acted on the feedback they got. This is what CIG should look at as an example if they ever want to get back to those heady days they had just after their kickstarter with a fully supportive community backing them all the way. Back then it was all about the vision rather than the money like it is now. I for one hope they do but, for now at least, I see little evidence of it ever happening. In fact, things just seem to get worse. 🙁

I think the main reason was switching to the Lumberyard engine halfway through development. This meant alot of assets and code had to be updated or otherwise changed, but yes more features were certainly added to the game too. I think we will be well into the 2020s before we see this game.

Judging by what happened to me at Lorville (another starport in the game with a city around it) I fell through the scenery. Still lots of work to do it seems. 😉

A good talk D1. Yes, Sean Murray has certainly been through the ringer and many would have folded under all that pressure. He made mistakes, he made promises, rashly perhaps, but in the end he worked his way out of it. Egosoft did something similar with XRebirth too. It’s great to see devs standing by their games and listening and reacting to criticism but it’s becoming all too rare these days. As for No Mans? A decent game now as it should have been from the very beginning but hindsight is a great thing isn’t it? 😉

Ah! So it was one of Tom’s ships, like the Sirius then? That makes the Ladybird the 2nd oldest ship in the game. Still, you did a wonderful job on it Marcel, improving it. Even now it is still amongst one of my favorites in the game. 🙂

My apologies Marcel. I honestly thought it was your good self. I do recall you adding those things but I also thought you were simply improving your ship. So who created it then? Guess my memory is getting fuzzy these days. 🙁

Personally I was never a fan of Steam, Origin or any of those other “game wrappers”. I lost a whole catalog when Desura when down. It taught me a valuable lesson tho, I didnt have any control over the games I bought and have been wary ever since. These days I mostly stick with GOG as at least you can download a game copy and its yours forever.

So you think Win 10 has improved since it first came out Gernot? I did the upgrade at the very start and I couldn’t stand it. It was slow, it was always updating goodness knows what until I got so sick of it I went back to Win 7. It was night and day, finally I had a good responsive OS back. I have to admit, I will miss Win 7 like I did with XP and Win 98 SE before that. Of course Workbench 3.9 will always be my favorite though, now THAT was how an OS should be! 😉

Understood Gernot. 😉 What I will do instead is simply have multiple installs. Always safer doing things that way but thanks once again for another update. This is great work Gernot! 🙂

Hi Gernot. I always kept Genesia on a dedicated drive outside of the main OS. I have also learned that Windows 7 is being killed off next January (2020). So I will have to move over to the awful Windows 10. I so hate that OS as, amongst other things, it’s compatibility will not be as good as Windows 7 is for a lot of things. 🙁

Thankfully I still have a really old XP based PC I keep in storage so it looks like I will be digging that out again.

Wonderful that you moved many of these great models over to Phoenix . So this fixes the problem but this must have been a lot of work for you Gernot, so thank you so much again, your a star! 🙂

One last thing, the Ladybird was created by Marcel back in the day. A sweet little ship it is too. I bet he will be glad to see that flying again! 🙂

    WOW!!!!
Gernot, it’s fantastic to see all these wonderful ships again! I am going to download the lot for Phoenix and have an “Ultimate” version of the Alpha 31!
Amiga music too! Pure heaven! 😀
