This game seems to be very interesting…the idea it’s fantastic!
Putted it in my steam wishlist for the future! I only hope it will not be the classic “forever earle access” game of steam.

I bought it and i’m very satisfied! The game it’s a descent remake in every aspect, i like it but it can be improved a lot with more variety. It’s all “already seen” since it’s very similar to descent.
I hope they will do a overload 2 but taking in consideration to adding more features like open spaces (not always underground), different weapons and a better design for enemies….they are very similar to each other.

Yes i understand what you are saying…but in my opinion a basic game is not a bad game, it depends from how do you do it.
You can do a simply gameplay but well cooked and have a good result as you can do far more complicated games were many aspects are not developed correctly.
Take an old school fps like serious sam…it has a very simple gameplay (run-fire-run) but the game is great. The same can be done with space game like nightstar.
I’m also a developer (we are only two guys) and from my perspective i can say that the bigger difficult is to have a stable team. You start a project, maybe you go in alpha and the in beta but the team is no more able to work on it…so the game get stucked.
There are many factors for this, one is that very small team do it for passion (like me) so there is no money, you need to work and then develop your game in free time. It’s easy to understand that someone in the team can leave.

I haven’t bought X4 but i planned it on summer…i prefer to wait for future patches.
Anyway reading people opinions on the game i’m disappointed because of the lack of a decent main quest and sidequests. After terran conflict egosoft didn’t games with good quests, for example rebirth has a bad main quest that stops suddenly and it’s also very short. Sidequests are boring and cannot be called real sidequests. Without a quest, a story to live in the universe, the game is only a grind and build game. The gameplay is flattened. I think it’s time for egosoft to go a step further and start to tell stories. We loved wing commander, freespace, freelancer and so on because they had a story. A game like x4 could became a masterpiece with well maden quests.

    I fear X4 it’s a boring game…

Noooo! A strategy game based on BSG…this is stupid! The first game to do is a dogfight spacesim based on BSG and then other king of games.
    Big delusion!

Instead of work for a real progress umanity does war and work like slaves for the big companies.
I think we will never colonize the space seriously, Mars landing it’s only propaganda.

New videos on youtube, this new chapter seems to be great but they do not mention about a good main quest and side quests. Expecially in Rebirth the main quest sucks and there are no side quests. I hope they will correct this making a good story.

    Nice machine Natan

I am hoping to build a new gaming PC near Christmas with all the latest stuff with AMD Ryzen processor and new AMD Vega gfx card.

How do you like the the R480? I wanted to buy one to stick in my existing machine and give it to my son, does it play games well?

Sorry for my unswer after 5 months but i read this only today!
Anyway i’m finding very well with rx480…the card is cheap and very fast. I bought an xfx GTR one…it has a better dissipation system.
I played with a lot of different games…from assassin creed’d unity to rise of tomb rider, elite, shadow of mordor, etc etc…the games are smooth.
With vulkan in doom 4 it’s simply perfect!
I always had nvidia cards until 2011…3 nvidia cards burned literally (2 8800 GT in sli and a 8800 GTS) in 2 years…then i bought an amd 6850 and i used it until september 2016! That card worked very well and it continues to work on another computer. After the 6850 positive experience i decided to buy another amd.
Today every console is amd based from cpu tu gpu…so i think there is a good evolution in AMD.
Anyway also nvidia are very good cards…both of the trends are good, it’s only a matter of what you prefer.

p.s. How works quoting in post?

I tried this game at a friend of mine that bought it…the game is good but for me there is a problem…the joystick support!
I read a thread on steam about it and the problem with U4 engine that doesn’t support joystick but there are plugin to add it.
When we think to a space simspace dogfighting game the joystick is fundamental!
I hate playing with a controller and even with mouse…i’m also an fps gamer so i use mouse and keyboard alot but for space games joystick is the best!
    Can you fix this?
