gotta be my settings then – ill have a look when i get a moment – it is round when i get closer 😉
be nice to see some sun spots now and then – rotating ?? – do the stars rotate in Pioneer? – i’ve never considered that 😳 – but with a blank texture how would we know
ill have to jet off to Sol again and have a look – should be able to tell now with textures
Cheers Matthew – that could be it – its no big deal really and yeah it is nice to see the stars having a granualted textured surface, its all looking very good indeed 😀
some nice touches, the cities look amazing – some great work eveyone
i did notice that the sun had a diamond shape rather than a sphere – whats that nursery rhyme about a diamond in the sky?? – oh yeah twinle twinkle little star – well i have added a pic so you can see what i mean – also the stars seem to ‘eat’ my ship – must be my settings – ill have a play with them later and see if i can get a more rounded sun and less greedy Epsillon Eradani
there really needs to be a new employment type – astro photographer 😉
i can spend ages just getting the right shot – so much for killing, mining, smuggling, trading, pirating …. this is the life for me
the beauty of the Pioneer universe ……………. 😉
now where did i put that wide angle lens …..
that looks great and some auto generated terrain features would add to the immersion of the sim
my only reservation is ensuring it doesnt add too much extra pressure on the abilities of the varoius range of PC specs people have
this said my mouth is watering at the potential 😀
great work 😉
you are of course right – and hopefully myself and other non programmers can continue to feel part of the evolution of this project – i think everyone feeling valued within a community makes for a far better end result – i know from reading most of the post that this is a very friendly co-operative and one that i am sure will continue to grow from strength to strength
thanks Geraldine and s2odan,
appreciate the reply….
Pioneer is special, i never realised how much until this last week of playing – if this is Alpha i cant wait till beta and then full version
just flying over the terrains, oribiting planets and stars is amazing and a real tonic to my day job. 😀 😀
i cant imagine the work that has gone into this project and i just wish i could help with things in some way, but i know nowt about programming. i’m just a player, a consumer at best, but this is an amazing project for old 40something geeks like me 😳 😀
many, many thanks to all
you are keeping the dream alive
If it helps for future reference I am running Pioneer under Win XP pro 2002 edition with SP2.
AMD Athlon, 64 x2 Dual Core 5000+ 2.61ghz with 2gig ram
Nvidia GTS 450 Graphics card
I have everything set on ‘high’ with planet detail ‘very high’
Screen res of 1280×800 (although it will go higher without any major hit of FPS)
Shaders, HDR and Planet textures on
It runs smooooth!!! 😉
No issues so far – although I haven’t got out of the Sol system since I downloaded on Saturday …. I’m enjoying the scenery of my local region of space at the moment and trying to capture some screenshots for posting at sometime……. 😀
sounds like a good idea to me….. can be confusing remembering which add-on you just installed – and SSC seems to be THE place where everything comes to so… yeah great idea
