Does it support flightstick and throttle at all CaptianKal? I am sure you had to spend a few hours mapping all the controls …
But I do see why more and more devs not supporting the flightstick any more, it is really a hardcore gamer control and the audience for it is getting smaller and smaller because of consoles and the technology behind the controllers. I will admit it has been years since I used my flightstick, I have the controller sitting right here and it gets the job done. But the flightstick does give you a lot better immersion feel that I miss in most games.
We will see what the next few months bring.
Yeah but when they nail down all the bugs NMS will be so much better running on Vulcan. Because overall it handles CPU/GPU operations more efficiently than OpenGL and DirectX. But tip of the hat to Hello Games for putting in the effort to integrate it.
I think I will be finally picking this up at Xmas, because everything should be stable by then. But it is looking good, I hope they have more space action in the game because that is rarely shown in all of the videos I have seen most of all them concentrate on planet side functions.
Yeah the devs said it would be best played with a gamepad, probably because it was also being designed for console at the same time. I am not a developer so I don’t know the difficulties of implementing control schemes and supporting them and balancing them across multiple platforms. But I would have expected decent mouse/keyboard support. But I have a gamepad too because some games do play well with them and when I do finally play outlaw I will try both methods to see which one I like best.
But hopefully modding will be really supported by the devs and this game game and its content can really grow over time. And maybe if there is enough feedback that the devs might focus a patch on PC controls.
Steam is giving away Space Pilgrim Ep 1 for free for a short time, so check it out and post if you like or dislike the game…
Maybe I will try playing this after I finish Galaxy on Fire 2, I read a lot of the comments that people are using the WESP patches with the game so I don’t think they integrated them. But when I do play this I will post about it all and how to get it playing as perfect as you can get it on Win10.
The effects look really good in this game, especially for from a top down view. I haven’t bought basically any top-down space games in a very long time I have been waiting on Starsector to complete because I think that game is a complete game (http://fractalsoftworks.com/). What this game has going for it is the fact it looks well done and the price is reasonable and if there is modding and the developer continues to update it for a while it could have a shot 🙂
Here is a nice review for Rebel Galaxy Outlaw
I have Precursors on Steam just haven’t got around to playing it yet, I need to do this soon before mods and patches are unavailable 🙂 I heard the steam version upped the resolution level of the game.
Oh, thanks for the heads up CaptainKal. Will probably pick this up at Xmas time once I know Vulcan is fully in the game and no beta. My daughter just recently purchased a Oculus and she will bring it up next time she is here so I can give it a spin. I hope I don’t get a headache using it… I could imagine that NMS looks just great with VR and feeling more immersed into the game.
Haha fixed my link, my mistake. I haven’t played Warhammer 2 yet it looks great, just wish they would package all of the DLC into one bundle so I can get it all at once.
I am sure Cliff Empire will be on sale this december so we should be able to get it cheap
After listening to that I just might pickup NMS while its on sale this week on Steam. I did like the fact that I read that they optimized NMS to use Vulkan so my Vega 64 should work well this I hope. I don’t own VR and that feature doesn’t really interest me much anyway…. but it really sounds like they are doing the little things, and that type of detail is what keeps you playing.
Here was a nice article I came across as well:
A new DLC pack is coming out this August for BSG: Deadlock called Resurrection. Check it out on steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1083890/Battlestar_Galactica_Deadlock_Resurrection/
If this game wasn’t a strategy game and a FPS action game instead I would buy this in a heartbeat.
New trailer that seems to show mostly multiplayer gameplay, NMS is on sale right now on steam btw… I have to admit this trailer looks great! Nice job Hello Games.
I was impressed by this video, people are going to be able to build very sophisticated stations and ships
That last video looks really good, I liked the view on the planet, the running out of oxygen, etc… between all of the videos thus far they probably wouldn’t need too much more time before they could submit for early access on steam. To get some people playing it and giving feedback on it.
