To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Story of Elite put together by a YouTuber Kim Justice and not a bad effort, granted old hand will not find anything they didn't know about. But it,s a good way to spend a spare hour.
I believe that undisclosed amount paid by Firebird for the right to Elite was a 100,000 according to Retro gamer mag.
Pretty good presentation of the history, my first exposure to elite was on the C64, still haven't purchased E:D yet.... I will eventually when I think they are done adding too it.
Anyone in the Uk, if you have a spare 10 minutes drop into WH Smith and have a look in this months Retro Gamer magazine as it has another Elite article, pretty much a copy and past one as usual. But it has a short interview with one of devs which did the Spectrum/Amstrad conversion of the game, just a pity it was not longer.
