It appears that the golden age for sci-fi games has arrived.
According to this post Valve is working on an open world space game, comparable to Freelancer/Privateer.
If this is real, I think space games are really coming back hardcore now. It is truly amazing how space games are coming back and I really do think its the fans of them and buying the existing games that are making these new IP's happen. Hey any good SSC can provide it will. I would like to see what Valve could do with this, makes you have a lot of questions and whether they might be trying to take on CCP and give EVE Online some real competition.
Nice will added to the list <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//cool.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Good to see some of the big developers taking an interest and will it be an online game?.
Just speculation, but I would be surprised if it had no multiplayer. Are there Valve games without multiplayer?
Yes, Portal 1 being the most famous, I'll dig around on Steam and see what else there is
I really, really, REALLY want Valve to pull this off. Did I mention I'm excited for this?
Last thing i read was about the project being cancelled... =(
Shame it was cancelled, you never know they may return to it at some point.

Yes, MV2000 this might be the article I am refering to. =P
Its been confirmed canceled, read through that entire thread and you will see. Gabe mentioned it was called Stars of Blood and is no longer being worked on during his little birthday party with those dudes from 4chan.
I'm not surprised they cancelled it...Valve has also to work on Half life 3 but i think we'll never see it in the near future.
Do Valve still make games?.
