To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

A free MMO, new one I think.
It’s still in beta and they are looking for some feedback
From the site
There are many planets, space stations and battleships to dock and trade at, You can upgrade your weapons and add tech units to your ship to improve many different characterists to give you an edge over your enemies.
The download link on the game's page seems to be broken, which is too bad, it looks cool and a good free MMO space game would be where it's at. I recently tried dark space which is free ATM, but as far as I can tell the game is basically a steaming pile...

Well the game doesn't really have any advertising whatsoever, nor any forums, so i doubt you would see any1 plying this gaem
If they need a forum I can solve that problem for them. That download wouldn't work because it is linked wrong.
Hi there,
I Hope the link works okay now, Please advise if it doesnt. I spent many years developing fairspace mostly just to see if I could do it. I released it last yearin the fale hope it would gain traction. The game is finished and its status is BETA only becouse it hasnt been tested enough, It is a fully functional MMORPG supporting upto 12,000 simultanlious players on the one server, The game is designed to expand to as many servers as I want. Ive left the game for the past 6 months whilst I build a to do list, Ive has some valuable feedback which Im going to implement on the next updates. However I would like more. So please, any feedback good or bad is much appreciated. http://www.corp.ssisgame.co.uk

hello bobalot,
i played around 10 hours on Fairspace these last days (lvl 25 already) and i enjoyed the time, even if sadly i met nobody online...
i think your game deserves more attention and i hope you can gain a wider audience
good luck !
ps : 1st post here, after reading often, thanks DarkOne for this site
Only reason I didn't talk about Fairspace Genesis before was because of the broken links so couldn't test the game I will try to play and do a little write up for you to see if we can get more people playing. Also try to get your game on mmorpg.com if its ready for prime time that would help get some people to try it as well.
Superb Bobalot
Well you certianly doing it a different way!
Completing one of only 2 or 3 MMO twitch based space sims on the planet just for fun and then not telling anyone about it!
I would imagine if you can continue to host it somewhere it will eventually gain traction. Sometimes these things take time. I started a windsurfing club 10 years ago and for 5 years there were only me and two friends in the forum. It then took off and is the biggest in Scotland now. Admittedly that is still very small.
There's some kind of population dynamics thing going on whereby popular things get popular and unknown things don't only because they're not known about. I think it happens with films as well. I am strongly of the opinion though if you can keep a good idea going even if it doesn't kick off immediately it will always eventually gain traction.
Well done and hope it gets the attention it deserves.
From the video the interface looked extremely quick responsive and smooth.

Hi,
Thanks for the pm with link in ehxo, level 25 is pretty good going for 10 hours. I must agree that more people would be better and will change the dynamic of the game. I maybe made the universe too big and should have opened sections as the player population grew.
Thanks dalkeith, Ive only observed other mmo's casualy, ive never actualy played them, So there are probably features that differ between mine and others. However im looking at getting the people who play to decide how some aspects of the game should work. Although the game is finished it will continue to grow and change.
