To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Starfare is a reel time strategy (RTS) game by FreeMotion Studios and it was officially released just yesterday on Dec 1. Starfare is a game like Conquest: Frontier Wars and is easy to figure out and play. The game still has a bug or two that I ran into and some gameplay enhancements that should be made, but overall the game is very playable and fun and its free.

Here is a few screenshots of the game in action, so give it a try and let us know what you think?
Here is a gameplay movie as well:
Somethings I figured out about the interface:
f5 - Changes the backgrounds
f7 - caused a crash (least on my machine) seems to load last game
f11 - takes screenshot with all windows/text
f12 - takes screenshot of only game assets
Looks like it would be fun, it reminds me alot of the ST Armada series.
Nice find!
I still have my copy of (one of the more under rated games ever) Conquest! I'm checking this one out.
CFW was one of my favorite games and also made by the Roberts brothers and the game play is very solid, just to bad #2 didn't get made.
On Starfare it plays decent, I know when I to the point of winning the level that it should just exit the level and bring you back to main menu to select new campaign. But instead you can actually keep playing with it and is kinda fun to build the bigger units. I was going to keep playing through the campaign this weekend to see if you get different structures and maybe more upgrades for units like in CFW or games like C&C Generals.
Version 1.05 has been released and they are working on multi-player as well.
Can't find the patch notes for the latest release (v1.0.67), but what is most important is that it now has multiplayer and this great game is free to boot so go and check it out.
