To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

RECRUITING URGENT Javascript programmers and modelers

Hello!

Hi, I updated this thats why it looks different! First of all, I'm going to tell you what I'm doing with the game right now. I am making the concept art and the GDD (Game Design Document) My other teams (Micheal, DustDragon and Yevgeiny S)are doing different things. Micheal and Yev are doing the programming, though they are not replying back (Maybe too busy?). DustDragon Is our support with recommendations and do the task management. But probably they didn't know each other.

Ok, Money! Firstly let me tell we do not have money to support the WHOLE project and employees. We are using adf.ly to earn. Also we are using donating buttons at Pay Pal. We are updating it but we havent made any vids yet. Ok, The game engine we will be using is Unity3D Free. We will be using kickstarter and fund everybody to level up to PRO which cost about $1000. first of all I need Javascripts coders and modelers. We are going to pay everybody $2500+ after kickstarter project is successful! Well, I estimated it that we will finish the game by February 2013. If you need money tell me at the e-mail.

Then, we code stuffs but after joining you will receive a set-up doc on what you need like IRC to talk etc.

Ok Thats a nice story! Well get the whole story here: systemnetworksgames.webs.com/projects

Now for more info about the job: systemnetworksuniverse.webs.com

Just ask me there and tell me about yourself. Thanks for reading and I will make this an update topic too.

I hope you get some nibbles on the ad, I thought Unity had its own scripting language, why Javascript?

For scripting in Unity there is some sort of JavaScript (UnityScript), C#, and Boo. Some more details about UnityScript vs. JavaScript here.

I would be interested in the reason why JavaScript, too, since I prefer using C#. The reasons I prefer C# is: 1. for performance reason, code for mobile devices must be strongly typed, and 2. the possible VisualStudio C# integration.

@SystemNetwork: I don't see more about your game and the job on your website than this:

"TCG Games (Trading Card Games) are in development. Most likely released in July and released at TheGameCrafter website! SPOILERS: Its a vehicle TCG game so most likely its sci-fi or old days. "

Ok. Found the page: http://systemnetwork...ts-games-others

Getting $1000 to $3000 for 6 month work only if you earn money, otherwise $0 is not very attractive <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//big_boss.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':codemafia:' />

Not everyone has a Unity3D license, will you be providing the Pro license to any developers that join the team? Because I don't think it is exactly fair to expect someone to pay for a pro license to have all the power and features of Unity. I could be wrong on what exactly you get with a normal/pro license but if you were going to do anything series you would get the later.

Not sure how many takers you will get on this SystemNetowrk, its ok to talk money, and its ok to not have any money at all. Maybe another incentive you might want to think about it is making the first dedicated modelers, coders get a percentage of sales after release? This way they are taking their chances on you and your project in which it might pay off if it does well.

I just don't see how much dedication you will get for $1-3k for 6mos work, that is just my opinion on that. I am not a programmer or modeler. But if I was able to grab peoples talents for a project that is exactly what I would do.

I didn't reply because I'm not interested in a share of the adf.ly revenue you're generating with your "Projects Website". You heavily edited the original topic but it still isn't convincing enough for me <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//sad.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

At least your visitors and watchers will know about if you "Post news" in your IndieDB or ModDB's profile or game profile.
