Well I bought an IDE adaptor for around £3.50 and a 4 gig CF card for £8.00. Just hunt around Pinback you will defiantly get one cheaper than £40. Those £40 ones might already come with Workbench (and other things, games, utilities) pre-installed.
I reported a while ago about this project for an Amiga emulator on suitably equipped Jtag`d XBox 360 and PS3 set up for homebrew, now I have just found out that the XBox 360 version has just been released.
Here is the links

And here is the link again for the PS3 version

Also you may find this useful, a link to Classic Workbench http://classicwb.abime.net/
Good timing I might be buying an a 360 next week.
Why don't you keep your hard earned cash, and buy a REAL Amiga Instead? 😀 😀

Because I have three real ones already. 😀 😀 😀
has it been 25 years wow, now im feeling old wish i never gave away my amiga to a friend of mine.
You could always download a copy of WinUAE http://www.winuae.net/
Almost all the Amigas back catalogue of games is available as ADF all you need to do is google for the roms for the emulator to work.
Speaking of Amiga emulators came across this one for the CD32 called Akiko http://www.airsoftsoftwair.de/en/prod_akiko.html it not been updated in a long time and it only works with the real CD32 game disks although it will not work with every game managed to get Universe working 😀
Decided to re-visit this old thread. <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_mrgreen.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Been reading a lot of the Adventures of Sabrina, who made regular appearances in the Miggy mags back in the day. The comic strip was created by Eric W. Schwartz and he had kindly setup his archive (dating all the way back to 1996 to the present) for everyone to see.
Here is a link http://www.sabrina-o....com/index.html
For some reason I always think about his Aerotoon rather than Sabrina when I read Eric W. Schwartz name.
Had total forgotten that the Sabrina cartoons had been in Format.
More Miggy related news. <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
The Computer Magazine Archive now has the entire collection of CU Amiga mags available for your edification. You can even get these read to you if you wish, usually with hilarious results! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//haha.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Also on the site there is a whole range of other computing mags covering a whole range of machines from the past. Have a look here http://archive.org/details/computermagazines
Thought I would highlight a site I came across called Commodore Is Awesome.
Its another Miggy related site full of interviews, game art and PDFs of Amiga Format (UK based Miggy Mag from back in the day), plus content for older Commodore models like The PET, C64, Vic 20 ect. Have a look here http://awesome.commodore.me/
Also for you A500 owners out there I have some great news! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Two new accelerators being worked on. Cant say when they will be released for full production but they are being worked on and almost finished prototyping. Check out these two threads on the English Amiga board
Jen Schoenfeld's ACA 500 (plus other goodies for other Miggy models <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ): http://eab.abime.net...ead.php?t=65087
The Zeus 68k: http://eab.abime.net...ead.php?t=65047
Bet you never thought that an old machine like the A500 would never see new hardware coming out for it again, I know I didn't! Perhaps Frontier will finally be playable on it at last! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
When ready for production, both boards will require pre-orders, so if your interested, keep an eye on these threads because both boards are aiming to go into production by the end of the year <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//nyam.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
It's nice some one is making some new hardware for the A500 but apart from running a few 3d games faster is it any real use.
like to see some new original games coming out as they do for the old console.
Well in the case of the Zeus, that has a 68000 which can run at 50 MHz. This will be a massive boost from the original 7 MHz, so using renderers, general system operations and gaming will be up to the standard of an accelerated A1200. Extra provision for RAM and even IDE interfaces might be a possibility too, meaning, adding an internal Hard or CF drive could be a an option too. Basically A500s will become really useful again. To be honest though, if (like yourself) you already have an A1200, then that would do more (especially if its already expanded), but if you love A500s and want to see it at it's best, then it's an instant purchase. I am definitely going to get one of these but will wait until the full respective specs are out before choosing.
I have the A500 out of it's box for the last week or so as I have been playing some games (after my disaster with XCom) when you posted about the accelerator and it just got me thinking about would games written for a 7 mhz A500 be able to run at 50 mhz. IIRC the faster accelerators on the A1200 have problems with games.
The answer is yes if you use WHD Load, registered version is best. On my '060@60 Mhz A4000, WHD Load sets the speed of the games, you can also change it (via tool types if I recall correctly) to meet your needs. There is also a range of hacks you can do too depending on what your wanting to run.
And don't feel too bad about X Com, I got burned once before getting Bioshock 2 when it first came out, that didn't run at all due to the DRM. Taught me a valuable lesson that did, let all the eager beavers do your beta testing for you and wait until it's not only bug free but cheaper too! Still, they eventually fixed it, so I am sure X Com will be fixed eventually too. Then I will buy it myself.

Like wise I seldom buy new games on release but got carried away with the hype surrounding the new Xcom game, lesson learned.
Never used WHD must give it a go some time.
You should Pinback, its the best way to run Amiga games on a real Amiga and a key file to unlock the full version costs only £15.00, well worth it considering all the handy tricks it has to get games running and installs for games are always being updated. Also, if you get ROM images (eg from Amiga Forever) you can even run A500, CDTV and CD32 only games on your A1200 <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Just seen the news about Putty Squad, after 20 odd years system 3 has released the Amiga1200 version for free on Christmas eve http://www.system3.com/promotional-download/puttysquadamiga/
Now where did I put the A1200 and the ADF thing.
Now where did I put the A1200 and the ADF thing.
It's right beside me!!! (Althought I prefer to play with WinUAE nowdays

So that where it went.
That must hold the record for the longest development cycle ever!
Another new Amiga, these thing keep appearing this one is based on a Raspberry PI a custom controller and the Amiga floppy drive, also look like they will be doing a crowd funding for it. http://www.armigaproject.com/
Spotted this thread on EAB. Someone has converted almost all the Amiga Format magazines to pdfs
Nice but 15gb is a bit much for me to download although their always the Amiga mag site.
