No question. The TARDIS. Everything else is a wagon. Though, some might say it is not technically a space ship...
Been soooo long since I have seen any Dr. Who. Think the last time I saw an episode was with Tom Baker when I was a kid. But if I remember correctly Cambragol the Tardis doesn't have any weapons and is lightly armored. But I did like the fact that it has almost unlimited space on the inside 🙂
Actually, it is technically not in our dimension, so from the perspective of this dimension it is impervious to any damage. Yah, it doesn't have any weapons, but it can time travel! That beats any weapon. And the unlimited space on the inside is great.
Hey, you're talking about my favourite space vessel!
There is no better space-faring ship than the Tardis. PERIOD. Mysteriously sentient, indestructible (except to imperial Dalek technology) infinitely configurable, immensely powerful...it's really the ultimate. "The most powerful spaceship in the universe", as the Doctor himself called it. I believe him.
For me:
X3-ArgonNova-1 - - Tekagi's Treasure Mod
With the right set up, this ship is awesome! 😈
HunterKiller
Nice ship. The detail on that model is quite nice, who made that model?
I had to laugh at the picture of DarkStar One! That was such a funny movie... time dilation from near-light-speed turning a 5-year mission into 20 years and everyone going crazy from boredom. (Even Bomb 20!)
My favorite would have to be the Millenium Falcon. It's not the looks so much (although I get a kick out of the fact that it looks a little like a flying saucer). It has speed, maneuverability, guns, and cargo space -- ideal for smuggling. She may not be the best at any one thing, but her versatility makes her the perfect freelancer's ship.

I'll go with Sovereign, from Mass Effect...Who's gonna mess with Sovereign? Bonus, it has the power to "upgrade" its captain (you gotta play the game, I won't give it away). But I'll take it without the mind controlling bit. Let me see if I can't find a good pic...
Read 'em & weep boys:
I take it back, maybe this baby can mess with Sovereign:
Surprised nobody mentioned her already. And Nero said she was just a simple mining vessel from his time...imagine what their battleships are like! 😮
So difficult to choose from!
Still think B5 Ships were cooler though <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_cool.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8-)' />
Oh, THAT "Pinback"!
I see that the original Sgt Pinback (Dan O'Bannon) died a couple of days ago. I was surprised to learn that O'Bannon (Alien, Total Recall) worked with John Carpenter (Starman, Big Trouble in Little China, Return from L.A., Halloween) to make Dark Star when they were at film school at USC.
I was even more surprised that they won the equivalent of a Saturn Award for Best Special Effects with their beach-ball alien:
What a classic film.
What in God's name?! AHAHAHA!!!
🙂
Oh, yeah... it's definitely a classic. As I said before, I would never call Dark Star a great movie, but it has elements that are very creative and funny. The movie is about a small team (maybe five?) on a five-year mission to find and destroy unstable planets that could interfere with future colonization. Their ship, the Dark Star, travels at near-light-speed and experiences time dilation so that twenty years pass for the crew. The only feminine influence is the voice of the ship's computer who calls the crew "boys" when she wants to tell them something. Boredom sets in and they all start to get a little bit stir-crazy... even Bomb 20, another talking AI, who gets a little messed up from being pelted by twenty years of solar wind.
If you're a bittorrent kind of guy, you can find it here:
Thats sad news to hear about Dan O'Bannon,I had not heard he had passed away.
Nice ship. The detail on that model is quite nice, who made that model?
I'm not sure at the moment but I'll be looking into it for you. I want to add it to my mod for an Admin ship. I have a good ship now but, I want this one. I've just been real busy right now with my mod and have been doing a lot on the Underverse server lately too.
It would have to be the Normandy SR2 from Mass Effect 2.
Not really a fighter but thinking about it long and hard I've figured out what it is about certain ships that attracts my attention - Moving Parts !
What makes the X Wing from Star Wars such a great ship ? The wings and the sound of straining servo motors as they move and the clonk as they lock in place.
The Normandy SR2, for those that don't know changes it's profile as it accelerates, it has two pairs of engines each pair mounted in the wings, Now they move from a standard width setting, back and closer together as the ship accelerates and a stabalisation fin extends beneath them, you have to really see it for it to make sense but it looks great.
So... many... options. Ok, to start:
"Firefly"
Type
Mid-bulk transport (Class A)
Should you deny me that sucker, I'd settle for one of these.
Cobra Mk III
Should both of those be out of the question, then choose a Federation ship from Star Trek, or a Battlestar.
That lovely star-ship on star trek nemesis, referred to as a predator ship. Basically if the shit gets nasty out there and space and it turns out things are a little more dodgy dog then what our films try to tell us (honestly) then you wanna be damn sure the next bully in space that tries to pick on you gets a serious fright. I think this ship would kinda deter troublemakers, I think it could even take on Borg, it was quite a devastatingly armed beasty.
This one?
I forgot how big that beast was, the enterprise wouldn't stand a chance against it all by itself.
Yep thats the one. Cool ship.
For long distance travel and laying the smack down:
Battleship Yamato
Short travel and dog fights:
Vaktoth Heavy Fighter
Try out the Underverse Mod by the [RIP]Team and you can fly that ship Darkone.
the millenium falcon.
Small fighter its would be x-wing or viper
Bigger Ship Serenity or the Normandy
