To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Ok, I'd like to share mine, but I can't seem to figure out where it's hiding in the files. Someone have any suggestions? I can find the picture, but not the whole desktop.

A lot easier and nicer to use than a windows based system, that's for sure. 3.9 is the most up to date version of Workbench for classic Amigas. 🙂 My Amiga 4000 doesn't even have a 10th of the processing power my Windows PC has, but seeing in in operation, you wouldn't think so. 😉

Here ya go Bouitaz

This website ( http://www.socwall.com ) has a wealth of wallpapers, it is a bit slow but worth it. You can also use their filter system for your screen size.

You can't run most games from the late 1990s and 21st century though, can you?

If you mean can I run PC games on it, no, but it will run all of the Amiga titles from the late 90s plus a lot of the older stuff too. What it can't handle the 500+ will do the job instead. 😉

In an attempt to stop being such a fan boy I have changed my background screen to a nice calming pic of Judge Dredd.

Geraldine, I really do like your Windows desktop, green is nice  I like green. Its a Seattle thing, green that is  A regular vegetarian I am. A green chemist too, mind you. Did I mention I like green?

Thanks! 🙂 Yes cant beat a bit of "Look at you Hacker" Shodan, coolest baddie in a game ever. That ship in your desktop would look very nice in Pioneer and yes green is good

You could try this http://www.etrusoft.com/

It's got a free version Quick Screen Capture and with it you can save your images anywhere, hope that helps 😉

Great! Glad it worked! 🙂

Now what do we have here? A P38, a P51, an F16 and a F4 Phantom in close formation. Good job the prop planes are in the lead the jet wash would be brutal if they were following behind, nice pic Volrider 😎

Thanks, but it's not mine. I got it from EAA.org. That's from 2005.

Here's the one I took at Airventure 2010;

<img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_lol.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Yes, Shodan and the System Shock series were something special. The world really needs a properly done sequel asap! Forget about Bioshock (it tried, but failed to capture the atmosphere of those great games), I want the real thing <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_cool.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8-)' />

I don't really have 1 background. since I got win7 which has that awesome built-in changing background, I've been collecting abstract wallpapers.

I currently have around 130 WP's that change every 10 secs.

If you want to get a vibe of my backgrounds, most of them I got from here by doing a search for "abstract"

also, the link D1 gave a couple of posts back also netted me a nice number of WP's

I've linked a few for examples:

This is a shame, all of those cool desktop pictures that people posted have been corrupted. I was going to fix my post but the image I originally used exceeds the 1MB limit <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//sad.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />
