To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Found this site while surfing the web: http://universesandbox.com/

Brief Description of what it does:

Quote:
Universe Sandbox is an interactive space simulator for Windows based PCs. Explore and experiment with our solar system, nearby stars, the Milky Way, and nearby galaxies. Create and destroy on an unimaginable scale while maintaining full control over time and gravity. It's fun, it's easy to use, and it includes a built-in tutorial and activities.

Smash planets together, introduce rogue stars, and build new worlds from spinning discs of debris. Explore our solar system in 3D or destroy everything you've created with a super massive black hole.

You can simulate and interact with:

Our solar system: the 8 planets,160+ moons, and hundreds of asteroids

Nearest 1000 stars to our Sun

Our local group of galaxies

An unlimited number of fictional scenarios

Tinker with your creation or sit back and watch the effects of gravity unfold. It's fun, accessible, and easy to use.

It's not totally free but you can download the demo and play with it. Check it out and let us know what ya think.

I'm also impressed from what I saw in the vids. But I'm too lazy to try it out atm .... or too bussy with my 3D stuff 😛
