To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Never played it myself although I read that it one of the favorites on PS2.

Only bought the PS2 myself to play the odd game I can't get on the XBox.

Picked up a few games

Body Blows for the Amiga, had a quick play of it last night, not bad although Iam not much into this type of game.

Judge Dredd for the XBox.

Day of the Tentacle 3" disk version have to see if I can get it up and running.

And Fallout 3 GOTY edition which won't work 😡 😡

Its an epic work of art as much as a game.

Recently got F.E.A.R. from steam. Also tried 1916 - Der Unbekannte Krieg, very dark game that... http://1916.dadiugames.dk/

That 1916 game looks interesting.

It seems to a common problem with Windows 7 64bit and 4 core processors, some people seem to have got the game working and other have had no success.

What’s most annoying is that Bethesda are aware of the problem but seem to have no interest in fixing it.

Some games will struggle with that setup. I myself hit problems with my AMD "Bulldozer" based heap of crap with Mass Effect 1 in that the characters turn into black blobs at certain parts of the game. My advice is to always check first before buying a game to see if there are any issues. With Fallout 3 though, don't give up hope. A massive community has built up around it and I am sure there will be a community based fix sooner or later 😉

Also keep an eye out for bios updates, that has fixed a lot of issues for me in the past.

😯 My word that looks good! I still play Hostile Waters and the Miggy version of CC. This new version could very well find itself in my Steam account 😎

Hostile Waters was a very fine unappreciated games (with the voice of Blake's 7's Avon). Although I had to cheat my way through the last mission. 😀 And I recently re-played (and finally won 🙂 ) the Dos version of CC (I wrote a retro - review for a greek retro gaming fanzine). I preordered and downloaded a beta version that contains about ten islands.

You really need to check the new Carrier Command. 😀 Trust me on that 🙂 🙂 🙂 .

There are differences between the Amiga version, and the Dos one. In the dos version Manta's A.I is way more aggressive. (But they ignore Walruses 😮 ).

Mmmm they seemed aggressive enough. I will need to track down the DOS version and compare them. I also think the DOS version has a sort of "stardreamer" to speed up time. The Miggy version I think, lacks this but again I need to check 😳

Yes. There is a warp function. From a recent Retro Gamer feature on Firebird, the Dos version was more refined than the ST/Amiga version. (And after the Dos version, the code was backported to 68000, for the mac version).

Tales of monkey island collector edition.

Normal don't bother with these special editions but could not resist a monkey one. 😀

Alan Wake? How is that a "good ol' game"? Is there an old Alan Wake game then? I have the new(ish) one on xbox 360.

You got me there Overlord <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_lol.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I guess GOG are expanding into newer games. As long as their stuff stays DRM free, I guess its ok.
