To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Don't know if anybody cares, but I saw Independence War Deluxe on GOG

A guerilla war has been raging in space for centuries. Human colonies are breaking away from Earth's control, declaring independence from the Commonwealth. As a Commonwealth Navy commander, your mission is to stop the Indie rebels and their attacks of terror and random piracy. It's a sophisticated, interstellar battle for life, and you must fight your way along the path between duty and justice. With luck and skill you can secure a victory for mankind.

Independence War Deluxe includes: Independence War and and its expansion pack: Defiance.

$5.99

I bought it, and I am glad to say that it's the voodoo version. 😀

Will the original play on Win7 or will we have to use DosBox?

Don't know about Windows 7 Darkone, but it installs and plays just fine on XP, without any need for Dosbox.

The GOG version also works with no problems on XP.

I - War was a Win 95/98 game. And you had to use Microsoft's Application Compatibility Toolkit, to make it work with XP.The software rendering version that is. I Installed it on Win 7 x64, and it seems it works fine. (I tried a quick action game).
