To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I am so happy to have found such a great looking space game community! I have played so many of them throughout life and it is great to be able to look back on them.

One in particular I am trying to find if anyone can help is an online space battle game that I think was free to play. It had 200 players per server so 100 vs 100. Where there was a commander on each side and the players had to mine asteroids and fight for territory as they researched and built better ships to overwhelm the other side. Anyone ever place something like that on PC before?

Welcome to the forums Gemnode.

Not an online player myself so my only guess would be Jumpgate, although it would be helpful if you can remember the year/years and was it a 2D or 3D game.

Hey there @gemnode, I take it this game wasn't a 1st/3rd person based game and it was more of a tactical game? Back about 5yrs ago there was a lot of online type space games coming out.... you may want to browse through the https://spacesimcentral.com/community/space-and-scifi-mmo-and-multi-player-only-discussion/ forum area maybe you might find it in there or the game list (not totally up to date but there is over 1k games in that listing.

But welcome to the station and see you in the forums.
