Miner Wars new demo
Looks likes no is keeping an eye on Miner Wars, as they have released a new demo http://www.minerwars...x#pr-31-07-2012
Prepare yourselves for an almost-final look at the first storyline campaign mission – Russian Assault. It features voice-overs from pros such as: John McCalmont (Marcus), Tori Kamal (Apollo), and JJ Aaronson (Madelyn).
Descend into the mineshafts in your Arion MK7 Combat & Mining Ship and hold tight as the initial conflict unravels. Survive a deadly ambush, battle your way out of the mining complex, escape with your mothership and...
Link to the demo, too big for me to download so I have not looked at it.
Video looks good, I just want to see more substance besides descent style action.
looks like Descent..... still needs some work but looking good <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Perhaps you'll enjoy their Nazi enhancements. I got a mail from the MinerWars devs today with some images but it's a long time since I played a MinerWars demo.
funny thing is..... (a bit off topic) i just ordered Iron sky and thats about Nazi's, i feel like all the Nazi and coming out of the wood work lol
might pick this up when it comes out, as there is nothing else good online with up to date graphics right now and no i'm not getting EVE, it's too much micromanagement and yes i knows its good but i don't have the time and will be playing guildwars 2 soon.
I don't know if I like the whole the 4th Reich faction addition. But I will not knock it until I see it, if they build enough story behind it and make the characters be remember-able then it might work.
will be playing guildwars 2 soon.
Me too <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//wink3.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Your reply to the Iron Sky topic made me write my earlier reply <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//wink3.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Same here. It seems a bit cheap to me after Iron Sky.
EDIT: ok, next time I use MultiQuote.
Just installed an played this demo. I preordered it a few years ago and had never really looked at. I have very mixed impressions. The mission is just descent. The voice acting and dialogue is pretty lame imo and i have no idea why I a miner am picking up 'samples' for my job. They've got alot of work to do on the mining aspect, you can blow holes in rocks, but all the rock is the same. I assume there will be some sort of resources to mine.
Its very laggy atm. My rig has a 3.5x4core pentium I5, 8gb ram, and ATI Radeon 6850 card (512) i think. My main complaint those is the aggressuve marketing. I have a registration code but cant work out how to enter it, so i have lots of adverts reminding me its only a demo and i need to pay for one of their products. It has full DRM, (must be signed in online to play single player) etc.
The designer launched the pre orders for his game, then hired a staff of almost 30 people, so to deal with this he's split it in to now 4 products (single player / multiplayer / coop game, an MMO, an Arena 2.5 game, and an Iphone game). You can also buy cheat codes and crap like that.
The 4th Reich stuff is interesting. Threw up quite a debate on rock paper shotgun. It appears to be a contraversial idea. I think it could be a fiscal error. The game has a high chance of getting banned in Germany which for space games is a large chunk of the audience.
On the plus side, it does look like hes going to actually ship this, unlike some of the other games discussed here. There still seems to be alot to do though, currently its really a shooter as far as i can tell.
I have thought about Pre ordering the single player game but last time I looked I could not find any information as too weather it will be a boxed version or if it just a digital one.
i'm pretty sure its just digital
Miner Wars is a first-person action-survival space simulation game set in the year 2081. This first installment of the Miner Wars franchise is currently being developed by Keen Software House a. s., an independent software company founded and lead by Marek Rosa. As we all know that plane games are difficult to control, MMOWood recommends a nice and relaxing plane fighting game for us. That was browser game BoomSky.
