To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Into the wormhole, bound for... out there, somewhere!
That's a nice one. I like the new wormhole effect by Svengali. π
OooooOOOooh is that a new OXP? Yes I like that! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_cool.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8-)' />
Yes, that is a new addition to the BGS oxp by Svengali... beautiful!
It does require a shader-capable machine for the wormhole effects though.
Just a simple pic... the planet Ladigeso in crescent phase:
Approaching the Torus station at Enqura, after a long, cross-chart cruise:
Ladigeso in crescent phase is a nice pic indeed.
Dogfighting with another Cobra III... those four missiles are real and were headed my way shortly after I took this pic!
The lighting on some of the underside of the Corba III is nice. But the important thing to ask was that the last thing you saw before you embraced your endless sleep π
Nope... I splashed the bandit, zapped two of the missiles, and survived the other hits... just!
Tracking a bandit in a Constrictor as it duels with a GalCop Viper:
Awesome picture. I will always enjoy Griff's shipset, and his constrictor is pretty epic.
Here's another one of my favorite ship set's, Smiv's!
Here we have the Corsair's Conscience taking her maiden voyage.
Nice onces. I too like the Smivs chipset along with other chipsets. I go for max variety in my Ooniverse.
Today I did an Escort Contract and had a good picture moment to catch the Griff Anaconda in all it's glory! π
And by the way. The Escort Contract.oxp http://aegidian.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9713 by Capt Murphy is an excellent addition to Oolite. In the screenshot you can see my client safely arriving in the station aegis. The Hud you see here is the new CRR Hud http://aegidian.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11502 by Capt. Beatnik.
Great shots guys! And pagroove? I like the way you provide links to the OXPs shown in your picture. π
Thanks, Yes otherwise one may ask which oxp is it and then I have to look it up. Thats quite difficult nowadays with Oolite with hundreds of oxp's.
But I can really recommend that new escort oxp. Another new way to bring variation to an already excellent game.
Variation is certainly not lacking with regards to Oolite. Great work by a great community for a great game! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//wink3.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
Oh man, I cannot tell you how many times i have raged after doing an Escort Contract. I keep foolishly activating my torus drive BEHIND the darned ship, so that when it stops to get in the main station, I crash into my escort!
So irritating.

Prompted by a pic recently posted by Pinback, this is from an experimental wip OXP:
That central section revolves nicely, just as in B5! If I attack it, it kills me in two seconds flat!
Omega class. Very nice π

Magic especially getting the central section to rotate. π π π
Will we be seeing a new oxp. β
Has there ever been any total conversion for Oolite. β
Ain't it just! That ship is part of a grand mission OXP that hopefully will get finished and be released... one fine day! Not my work, I hasten to add. IΓΒ’Γ’β¬ÒβΒ’m just a test pilot (the Chuck Yaeger of the Ooniverse... heh!), and I get to play with some very tasty stuff, some of which never makes general release. Taking part in fleet actions in interstellar space with a ship like that on your side is rather good fun (the player gets a very tasty ship to fly as a reward), and if the OXP is ever completed, it will be a cracker!
I donΓΒ’Γ’β¬ÒβΒ’t think there has ever been a total conversion of Oolite, although there are several shipset OXPs from other universes. Not really my thing though, as I prefer a consistent Elite-style universe for gameplay.
Another classic sci-fi ship has joined the game... the Firefly from Serenity.
