To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I thought why not share this offer from the german CHIP computer magazine?
The first link brings you to a "Megapack" (already) of 50 DOS games, which is a good selection and includes classics as; The Settlers, Commander Keen & Duke Nukem, many more which i don't know and haven't yet the time to try them out.

To get the rest of the "junk" of 525 DOS games follow this link, it includes some to me known games as; 20'000 Leagues Under the Sea, Ace of Aces, Afterburner, Batman - the Caped Crusader, Battle Chess, California Games, Castle Wolfenstein, Centipede (many more Atari arcade classics), Commando, Dragon's Lair - Escape from Singe's Castle, Dungeon Master, Caves of Kroz, Dungeons of Kroz, F-15 Strike Eagle 1+2, Indiana Jones: and the Last Crusade - and the Revenge of the Ancients - and the Temple of Doom, Leather Godesses of Phobos (ok, this i don't know, but it sounds erm - interesting), Marble Madness (!), Microsoft Flight Simulator 3.0, Paperboy, Populous, Prince of Persia, Se* Vixens from Space, SimCity, Spy vs Spy 3, Star Trek - the Kobayashi Alternative, Wings of Fury, Zack McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, just to name a few.

Of course you need this to play them on recent Machines:

Post questions how to run them here, i will try to help you (dosbox configs and such problems), but don't expect a quick reply.
I can't (and won't) upload 575 configs 😉 but i can help you out for a specific one.
I haven't played most of them yet, neither that i have set them up, but if you don't expect from me to install 575 everything is cool (i like to run 574 gernot and i have no idea how to handle dosbox 😉 )
Hey Gernot! 🙂
500 DOS games? That could be pretty cool! Are they German versions though? No matter, still a great pack. As for getting them to run, I've always used D-Fend Reloaded. It's easy to set up and runs just about everything, no matter how old, I've thrown at it. Basically it provides a front end GUI for Dosbox. By the looks of things it has been updated too since I last used it. You can find it here.
Have fun! 🙂
Sorry Gernot, for some reason the system flagged this post for some reason. I approved it through, I will remove the other two...
Anyone know if we are are allowed to host the scifi/space related ones?
@geraldine
hi,
in most are the english versions, some are german games they are for sure in german.
the 500+ collection contains a lot of rubbish, from cga games in the fabulous four colors to shareware & PD releases.
but one has to browse the content, i can identify only a few.
@D1
I have no idea how far a redistribution is allowed, but i can look out for a note in the zip or on the website.
Redistribution *shouldn't* be a problem, since it appears CHIP is re-re-redistributing them.
the "megapack" is "mirrored" on archive.org and the article links to this abandonware site on the right side of the page.
FYI: MANY German releases of games have undergone censorship in one way or another.
