With PC component prices rising and rising people will probably gravitate more towards consoles since you can pick one up for $500-600 these days and a decent to good gfx card on NewEgg will run you over $1k 😉 So if Valve can make this happen slowly this can open up their market to even more millions and give current owners of steam accounts another option to play our game library.
In atalk at Sancta Maria Collegein Auckland, New Zealand this week, Newell wasasked by a studentif Steam would be porting games to consoles, to which the legendary developer hesistated, before saying, "You will have a better idea of that by the end of this year."
With the majority of games having controller support these days and with consoles running pretty much PC parts on the inside I don't think this will be difficult to pull off. Its whether Valve can work out fee agreements with Sony and Microsoft since Steam is a storefront and they would pull game profits from the console stores. So this will be interesting to see if it happens and if it does it will be great for gamers.
Looking forward to the end of the year 🙂
Might be some sort of streaming service?.
