To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Need Help

Hi! I just recently found you guys in my hunt for awesome space games. What I'm really looking for is a game that's a little more RPG than RTS. I guess something like the X series but I want to be able to walk around the ship and the station and walk around the planets. I also want to be able to fight the enemy sort of like a FPS. I guess like Universal Combat but better. I recently started learning how to make games and if i can't find a game like this I'm going to make it hahaha. Any help?

The immediate games that come to mind are KOTOR1&2 and ME1&2. Mass Effect and Knights of the old Republic are good RPG's but the space combat is none existent. Star Trek Online has a lot of these elements to. You also have Parkan II and the Precursors as well and the upcoming Salvation Prophecy.

I like KOTOR and ME but like you said there isnt any space combat. I'm really looking for something that has a good blend of the two.

those other three sound kind of promising though

Parkan II would be best bet since Precursors is a bit hard to find unless you order it from overseas. Do checkout Salvation Prophecy forum here as well and do ask questions because Jabberwocky is pretty good about answering them.
