Mike, if you are a believer, pray.
Deleted the PioneerGen folder, still no luck Walterar.
Regards,
Mike.
what is your config and your OS please ( i've open your 2 screens and i'm afraid to understand ...)
We can start over. I have the new Genesia R8 file on my desktop Walterar. 🙂
@Tourist, sorry Tourist I don't know what a config is and it's XP im running. 🙂
.... no comment , i believe i've finish to let the futures realases in my computer ...
what sort on graphic card is install on your computer ?
Mike
Well...I can confirm that the files you speak of are indeed in the folder PioneerGen (see image 1 below).
Please find enclosed a copy of the contents of the four files listed above.
Yours hopefully,
Mike.
Wow, that's ... going to struggle.
Yes, first thing is to see how much ram it has 256MiB is not enough, 512MiB might run the latest version of Pioneer but definitely NOT Genesia as it's based on a lot of older code that used a lot more memory.
If you've got 1GiB or 2GiB it should be fine though.
You'll have to turn off shaders, and ... try disabling texture compression ... although that will use more ran. Tricky.
Find these lines in your config.ini and change them to the ones below:
DisableShaders=1
AntiAliasingMode=0
UseTextureCompression=0
FractalMultiple=0
Textures=0
Sorry. That's just not right at all. The Acer laptop I have is not my newest computer (I bought it SOLELY to run Pioneer on) but it has only minimal trouble running the new Pioneer. I have all the settings turned up to max. It stutters slightly when approaching a planet with max fractals and max planet detail at a distance but that's about it my Fluffyfreak friend. I am grateful for the advice however and will try your above suggestions.
Still hopeful,
Mike.
Mike It's a shame that we can not run Genesia, but the hardware limits are cruel sometimes. However, not all has been in vain, we have learned some new things. I have a doubt. How much RAM does this computer?
Hi Walterar,
Please find enclosed the specifications sticker.
Best wishes,
Mike.
The worst. 256MB
We have the explanation ,really sorry Mike , but if you have a second computer maybe you can just try Genesia ?
Looking at the specs of your Acer laptop, that would be a perfect as an emulation machine for the original games. Perhaps it isn't good enough for Pioneer, but you could run D-Fend Reloaded and a ton of great DOS games that can be found all around the net including all the Elite games. Best thing about D-Fend is that it is free. Your laptop could even be used to run Amiga Forever (which is not free but still very good) and again, use that to access a ton of Amiga gaming classics. If I were you, that's what I'd do.
To emulate the Amiga, there's also UAE (and WinUAE, for windows), which is free (GPL 2) 😉
Not very easy to set up, but works fine.
Yes that's true Tichy, but you still need Amiga ROMs to get it to work, which is fine if you have a real Amiga or know someplace you can find them, if not, Amiga Forever comes with a full set.
That's the "not easy to set up" part. I too have had some difficulty to find the ROMs. I think that they can't include them for copyright reasons. (damn copyright! )
Wow. I guess that wraps it up then lol, not enough memory.
Sorry for any inconvenience everybody, thanks to everyone for all the help. This Acer runs the new Pioneer just fine so I should be happy with that, and at least you guys know what the lower limits of the simulator are even if you didn't previously.
Also, I got to know all you guys a little better which is worth more than getting a game to run on a computer.
You guys rock,
Mike. 🙂
