To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Excellent! I'm now looking for a used advanced radar mapper on the bulletin board. I love that addition! :pioneer:
I've been flying around Reese in the Gliese 526 system, doing package deliveries between the large amount of stations orbiting the planet. I also picked up two mapping missions for Reese. I've been doing the missions in the order of the deadlines. I've discovered that if I land at a surface port and save the game, the mapping starts when I load the saved game and is completed while I peruse the bulletin board. I was doing that when someone who was evidently unhappy with my mapping attacked me while I was docked. I decided to sit there and see if he would crash. I set sidereal view so I could watch. He fired at me and I was astonished and delighted when the Police ship that was sitting on a nearby pad took off and blasted the miscreant out of the sky! It then came back and landed where it was like it was all in a day's work. Awesome!
:hi: :gamer:  :pioneer:
I also noticed that the radar mapper did both missions simultaneously! Another awesome!
That actually happened to me in Elite II once when a station was caught in the crossfire between me and a pirate. The station launched Vipers and took it out. :girlcrazy:
I've noticed that in the last two versions, when I jump into a system I get the message, "You fixed the hyperdrive before it broke down." Is this a bug in Pioneer or Scout Plus?

OK, I think I understand. This is a message from the game, or the ship's computer, telling the player that s/he was able to repair the hyperdrive in flight but it still needs to be serviced by a qualified mechanic. Is this correct?
How about...
"Warning! Hyperdrive failure imminent! Advise obtaining hyperdrive service at nearest starport."

Mmmm its too long.
Ok, how about....
Warning! Hyperdrive failure imminent! Shipyard service needed!
EDIT: I noted that the space to work with is (including spaces) 62 characters so I shortened the message just to include the basic info a pilot needs to know. As in, this is a serious problem, get to a dock as soon as you can. Hope that helps walterar.
Here are some more suggestions;
WARNING: Hyperdrive needs servicing.
Hyperdrive failure possibility is now <insert code here>%
Hyperdrive has moved out of alignment and may fail.
Hyperdrive is past the servicing time.
A component in the hyperdrive is near failure.
Hyperdrive may break down if not serviced soon.
Hyperdrive failure possibility detected.
I don't know which one is best. You could display them randomly. The WARNING: could be added or removed from any of them.
I'm in a trinary system. I just scooped a small gas giant. I was planning to jump, but I now understand that I must travel 132 AU to the only spaceport in the system and find a good mechanic. 😎
For you walterar (and Gernot and Vuzz and Fluffy and Marcel and nozmajner and all the rest involved in this awesome game) we are always here.
@walterar Gernot's Ladybird has 1 crewmember only. Vuzz's has room for two but it's LMR. I really should resume work on my version.
And if modified "max_crew": 3, you can hire a cook too. 😆
:read: How embarrassing! I was sure that she only had room for one. Maybe it's because there's only one crewmember in the model.
Marcel, do not apologize; your observations always (99% of the time) helped me improve Scout+ I must thank that. Keep it up. :fan: :pioneer:
Gernot perhaps made a small mistake when SGM version of the Ladybird. I miss very much to Gernot, :this: hopefully it is well and come to greet us soon. :drinks:
I've found a bug. It's probably in the Pioneer code, but since I found it in Scout Plus I'm reporting it here first. In the Qulia system (11, 0, 0) is a planet names Chou's Grave that has two ground stations that don't trigger the docking sequence when I arrive at the pad. My ship just sits there with the autopilot still running. If I press F5 I fall through the ground. The stations are Fortress Herbert and Carr. The two other stations on the planet work fine.
I can confirm this in vanilla Pioneer too. The ground station gave me pad #7 and no collision for the base was present at all. Pad #7 works at London, so at least it's not a model problem.
I'll report it.

Sorry but i have a "private video" notice
