To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

If you've been around Pioneer for any amount of time then you've seen this:

If you build from master or download tonight's dev build and try this you'll see this:

Yep, we finally got it 🙂

That's a dead ringer for the real thing! Way to ring in the new month! You win the brass ring! (and any other bad puns that I haven't thought of) Thanks, and congratulations! 😀

Good work, what was the cause of it?

Its a long story. The short version is that basic shaders ("simple", "billboard" and "planetrings") weren't setting up the magic shader-based depth stuff properly, so they were all being drawn with essentially no depth.

At this time of night when I've just wandered in after a week working in London and can only keep one eye open... the short version is good 😀
