To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hello all,
First off just wanted to say what a great project this is shaping up to be, so many other open source space sims have ended up not getting off the ground, so it's great to see the steady progress Pioneer is making.
Anyway, I'm trying to get some new buildings into the game, and the current setup seems like a placeholder, so there's not an obvious example to follow. From what I can see all the buildings seem to be working off a single texture etc, without any discernible UV maps. My question is;
1. How are the textures being applied? On one of the custom buildings I've added, they're distorted at odd angles so it doesn't look like solid projection, are UV maps actually supported for buildings?
2. If so, what is the process for getting a building into the game, with it's own texture?
So far I've found that just adding an obj with it's own uv mapped texture causes an instant CTD when you load a new game.
Appreciate any tips.
I haven't made any buildings myself, but there are a couple of threads about it. Here's one, hope it's a start. 🙂
Ahh, great, thanks for the reply
