Probably a newb question with a simple solution, but I can't seem to get the cockpit to show. I leave the box checked in settings, and load the game up, but it's not available when I scroll through the different views. Kills the immersion factor for me. Anyone have any insight?
Odd. It should work (it's quite barebones right now, I doubt if would add much to the immersion)
Are you using a prebuilt binary?
Which ship you are flying? (I think the Bowfin won't have cockpit)
Yeah it's the latest pre-built release from the Pioneer site. I started a new game, so I'm in the Sinonatrix.
I know it's a trivial detail, but cockpit view is a make or break kind of thing for me when it comes to simulation games, and I loved Scout Plus, so I'm hoping to figure this out.
I just checked the files, and it seems the sinonatrix is set up to use it's own cockpit file, wich is non-existent currentl. Well, it's WIP, but shouldn't be referenced in the release files.
It's working on my end anyhow, but that might be platform specific or something.
Try editing the pioneer/data/ships/sinonatrix.json file, and remove the "sinonatrix_cockpit" from the cockpit line, and leave just the "" quote marks.
"cockpit" : "sinonatrix_cockpit",
That might solve it. If not, then check if there are any mods active. In the Documents/Pioneer/mods dir. (~/.pioneer on linux).
If interested, you could even try this mod, a WIP state of the cockpit.

It's untextured, but shows the direction of it.
None of that worked 🙁 Even the WIP mod. Guess I'm stuck with Starshatter, Scout Plus, and Evochron: Legacy. Thanks for the assist though.
