To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Wird es nicht mal Zeit, dass es auch ein kleines German Board gibt? ich für meinen Teil bin der englischen Sprache nicht mächtig genug, dass ich mir sicher sein kann, dass ich verstanden werde. Und Übersetzungsprogramme liefern auch nur bedingt Abhilfe.
Ich bin mir sicher das es eine ganze Menge an deutschsprechenden Leuten gibt, die dem Ende der Entwicklung an diesem Spiel entgegenfiebern.
Zumal ich auch einige Sachen los werden möchte:
1. Kann mir einer sagen, ob die Berechnung der Planetenoberfläche hinsichtlich der Geschwindigkeit noch optimiert wird? Wobei ich es nicht verstehe, manchmal lande ich, und es geht fast natlos in die Details über. Manchmal lande ich steh in der Landschaft rum und die ersten Täler und Hügel zeigen sich nach ner halben Minute.
Das Spiel ist jedoch immer bei mir flüssig spielbar City auf high, Terain auf very very high. (meine antike Maschine: P43,2ghrz, 2gb ddr2 ram, gforce 7800 gs, winXP (alles bis zum Erbrechen übertaktet))
2.HDR scheint noch so einige Maken zu haben.
a) immer wenn ich seitlich auf eine Planentenoberfläche drauf schaue, erscheint sie viel heller, als wenn ich direkt frontal auf die Oberfläche runter blicke.
b) Ich sehe auf diversen Youtube Videos einen schönen Lense Flair effekt (Sternkreuz) Nur bei mir bekomme ich es nur hin, wenn ich die Shader deaktivÃÂere, und dann auch nur sehr klein. Ist genannter Effekt nur auf DirectX 11 karten Zu sehen?
3. @ Herr Schiffskonstrukteur gernot66 Wer hat die Boa so versa.... Ne also echt, aber gut, ich stell mir einfach vor das es eine Weiterentwicklung ist, den neuen VW Shirocco mag ich schließlich auch nicht mehr;-). Und schmerzlich vermisst wir Puma Klipper(!!), Lion Transport, Panter Klipper!!!Kann ich hoffen das sie irgendwann neu vom Stapel gelassen werden? Ansonsten klasse Arbeit.
4. Wenn ich mir noch was wünschen darf... mein absolutes Lieblingssystem ist weg - Ross 154 - Man war das schön, Aster von der eisigen Oberfläche Merlins zu sehen, stundenlang dahin zu träumen... schwelg...ich weiß ja, das ist nicht Frontier, nur angelehnt, aber dennoch... ich finde das darf nicht fehlen. Reict schon wenn man keine Strahlenlaser mehr hat...

Vielleicht. Wir können das aber nicht machen. Man muss in dieses Board fragen (und wahrscheinlich nur auf Englisch).

Ja. Alles noch optimiert wird. s20dan arbeitet daran.

Ja, das ist auch ein unerledigtes Arbeit. Es ist ganz derzeit nicht eine hohe Priorität, weil die Programmierer anderen wichtigen Aufgaben haben.
Das Sternkreuz wird sehr wahrscheinlich durch etwas anderes ersetzt sein.

Ja, es war schön, oder? Leider, Pioneer ist nicht Frontier. Vielleicht können wir es machen; vielleicht konnen Sie. Nett, aber nicht nötig.

Google did a passable job with the translation.
I'd generally be against a separate board unless there's a lot of traffic because of the risk of fragmenting the community. For language-specific boards I'm not so sure if that applies though. Not that its up to me, but I think I'd only be supportive if there's enough people watching both boards to make sure that important information get passed along appropriately. That increases the burden on those who can speak multiple languages, which they may not want.
I'm quite happy for non-English-speakers to post on this board. So far there's been at least one person able to answer in the OPs language, and I'm happy to run things through a translator if there's no reply. I'm not worried about missing anything because normal rules applies - you can't be sure the devs know about something unless you've explicitly brought it to their attention.
I generally agree with robn, but if there is a demand for separate language boards, I am sure Darkone would look into it. In any case, I think it's great to have so many members of the SSC from different countries around the world. It really adds variety to the place 😎

Sorry if I am mis-informed since I didn't run this through google translator, but I have no problem adding either a general forum or a sub-forum for foreign languages if it is requested and used.
Try a german thread first to see if there's enough traffic - there's nothing sadder than a forum with seventy subforums, two posts in each... 😛

Thank you for your answers. I had written something misleading. A new forum is not absolutely necessary but a small sub-forum I think is good and standards for such projects. But well, as long as you you for such a step can not struggle through, you have to endure just such bad english outbreaks; o)
@ Geraldine, thank you, yes it is rare that I even notifying me somewhere but if it is similar to what elite and even with such a brilliant project, then I can not control myself.
Now, first test the new Alpha 13 ... looking forward
