To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hello and A Question

Hello everyone,

I've been following Pioneer since alpha 7 and I must say that each release just gets better and better. It's outstanding work, thank you the developers for taking on this project. Your hard work is very much appreciated!

I do have a question though, has anyone got High Dynamic Range Lighting to work with an ATI card?

It did work on alpha 8, but 9, 10 and 11 all have the same problem. With HDR enabled, the screen does not refresh correctly. For example, the spinning ship seen on the main menu looks like the frame rendered before it is not cleared, so it "smears".

My hardware:

XFX ATI 5970 2GB

Windows 7 64-bit

Intel X980 EE

12GB Ram

Thanks in advance to anyone taking the time to post,

Shad.

P.S. Great default avatar for the boards, Dark Star, fantastic film.

Hi Shadders, welcome to the forum!

The problem you describe is a known issue (issue #84). We haven't been able to pin it down to a cause, but the current (somewhat tenuous) theory is that its caused by a driver change, possibly around Catalyst 11.3. I'll enter your specs into the issue; hopefully another data point will help out.

Dear robn

Thank you for the information, and thanks also for your welcome. If you think any further info may help, I'll be happy to provide it.

Best regards,
