To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

nasty 3dcard emulator

THIS WON'T BE A MAGIC TOOL 😉

but it can PERHAPS help to solve some troubles running a 3d game even without a GFX card.

further it's possible to "lie" to the system and let it detect another GFX card rather then the mounted one.

it's all software controlled, so don't expect no wonders!

i put the file on my webspace, because it's a bit a treat to get to the common link (many programs, site is in italian)

http://pioneer-universum.web.officelive.com/Documents/3danalyzer-v236.zip

i haven't tested it much yet, but it looks good 😎

it can also be used for benchmarking.

it has a few presets for some known trouble making games (LOTR, spiderman)

a short introduction to the functions can be found here

file:///F:/Programme/3danalyzer-v236/help.html

scroll a bit down... the english help is below the german

report your experiences here please, i'm curious...

have phun 😉

one BIG leak

pioneer can't open it's surface,

that's a bit poor, i tried other games before, but it looks like it won't work with pioneer. 😥

another NASTY behave, it copies a own opengl32.dll to the selected games (program) folder, some won't run without a specific version (i.e. FFED3D).

NASTY because unlike other OpenGL tools, like OGLE, it didn't takes back changes, means the copied opengl32.dll stays afterwards in the folder.

usually it's no problem but like i said FFED3D as example needs a specific one.

for people who likes to experiment with it a bit, it's possible to "cheat" 3D-Analyze for FFED3D,

open the folder of 3D-Analyze, there i s a file called "dat2.000" this is 3d-Analyzes version of opengl32.dll.

make a zip of that file and delete the dat2.000 and name the zip i.e. orig_dat2.zip.

now take ffed3d's own opengl32.dll and copy it to 3d-analyze's folder, rename it to dat2.000, make a zip of that to and differ the two zips by naming this one to ffed3d_dat2.zip, just to have both backed up.

ffed3d should now run started from the tool. how much will still be possible i can't tell by now, but at least ffed3d starts then and after a quick "force wireframe" it works at least partwise.

pioneer needs the systems opengl32.dll, it won't run with any other, you could trick now the system but, if any other is detected it will be written back from windows storage of system files (except for ogles opengl32.dll, but 3d-analyze won't work therefore with this one).

so there is unfortunately no way to see to make them both work together. i can start pioneer from 3d-analyze, but due to that it won't accept any settings.

of course i tried some nasty nasty things, but like i said, both programs are very rigid in which version of opengl32.dll is used.

this is really sad, i would have liked to know if this wouldn't have helped to fix some ATI related issues, and vice versa if i can reproduce them by "cheating" the game with which card is installed.

so i guess i have to dig out my old ATI, or my whole old machine for such tests.
