To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Keeping true to tradition, as of a few years ago, we have released another build, on this glorious Pioneer-day, when the calendar reads February the third. The list of changes, fixes, additions, improvements, and new features, is massive
https://github.com/pioneerspacesim/pioneer/releases/tag/20210203
Thanks to everyone who has contributed, be it code, transaltions, art, models, bug-reports, feedback, or just spreading the word!
(This does not differ much from the release candidates, other than bug fixes, and updated transaltions, and saves will be compatible with the december and january release candidates).
Cool 😎
Maybe you would like to link the latest version on your homepage? Not everyone looks at the newsfeed 😉
@crux_72 thanks, but it's been correctly linked within 30 minutes of the release being made yesterday. Perhaps you need to re-load the page?
Two can play this game 🙂
I know what you have done 😉
And if you didn't do what you did, then I know what I did which I didn't do before 🙃
It's all good now - see you in Barnard's Star (or any other run-down pub, as long as it's smoky and wicked)
🍻
Update from Flatpak resolved the problem!
Up!
Edited, tried again today!
I've installed Pioneer through flatpak in Ubuntu. I get this error with the last update:
[09:46:45] Info: couldn't initialize station type 'stations/ground_station.json' because the corresponding model ('ground_station') could not be found.
[09:46:45] Fatal: Error while loading Space Station data (check stdout/output.txt).
Any help would be appreciated. 🙂

I just wanted to let you know that the mod folder is no longer read out with this version - at least not for me. Up to and including yesterday, there were no problems.
I have of course uninstalled everything again etc etc.
But maybe it's one of those things that only goes wrong for me, who knows.
The mod folder aught to work. Where do you place it?
The mod.zip ist placed in documents/pioneer/mods as always.
I didn't made any changements, just installed the newest version of pioneer. Befor that, so for the last week, it worked perfectly.
Well, I just overwrote now the files in question in the main data folder and that works for me. It isn't a big deal, realy.
Which mod are you using?
There's a kink in the mod system which mostly affects ship replacements. Pioneer prefers the compiled model, so if you want to replace an existing ship, it would still load the compiled .sgm if there's none in the mod zip.
I use a self-made one, but it only replaces the .lua files which are responsible for the systems, factions, equipment. Add to that another skybox, a few soundtracks and the logo on the start screen - that's all.
As I said, it has worked well so far.
Well... maybe I'll figure it out sometime, then I can report it.
Hmm, that should indeed work. Could you link a sample I could check?
Here you go.
I just took away the music & sound folder to bring it down to less than 10MB.
Rest is exactly how I used it the last few days.
EDIT: file deleted
It seems that it is caused by some directories (possibly even filenames) cases not matching:
And I'm even on Windows, which doesn't really care about it, but still. I changed the directory cases to match what the actual data directory has, and it seems to work properly.
Nice commodity icons by the way.

The upper/lower cases... I don't believe it 😖! I must happened when I re- rearranged them... Shit! Thanks @nozmainer, no idea when I would have noticed that!

Yup, I like them too - but they're not mine.
I pulled them out of the dead, stinking corpse of 'Jumpdrive'.... but I'm actually in the process of creating my own, but with the same style approach.
Mine are the head, the two jackets, glasses and helmet in the face generator. At the moment this is only enough to make my own avatar presentable, but I'm working on finishing the NPC's accordingly.
Yeah, those icons look like Paragon aka. Jumpdrive.
There's also scout+ icons, I suspect.
