To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Maybe some other screen-shooter would like to contribute?
How about making a community contributed wallpaper pack to be distributed on the official site? Could it be a good promotional idea?
(I release them in public domain, so do what you want with them.)
Tichy, this is great! 🙂
BTW. Your desktop looks like Linux (Gnome maybe as graphical environment?) - could you possibly tell me what style are you using?
Yes, I'm using GNU-Linux. My distribution is Arch Linux. My desktop is quite customized... 😀 I use dwm as window manager and mainly terminals and cli programs.
Thank you for answer! 🙂 It looks great and very hi-tech, congratulations! Your wallpapers give it final touch 🙂
thanks 🙂
You know, today I just happened to set one of your pix as wallpaper and was thinking of going through the screenshots thread looking for more because I like to change my background every day. Thank you very much!

If you find some that you like, share them. 😉
Unfortunately, many screenshots are too small to be used as wallpaper. I noticed that the forum shrinks the images that you attach to the posts.
I just discovered how to do the tilt shift effect in Gimp. 🙂
So... I did some alternative versions of my walls and updated the pack.
The main purpose was to hide the jagged lines in the arctic screenshot, then I played a bit to make a wall to suit in my desktop setup.
See the first post for screenshots and link.
Hi Tichy, if you don't mind, I will give this a shout out over on ModDB.
Share it as you like. I'm pleased. 🙂
I added 4 new walls by SuperNewTable, who gave me the permission to release them in public domain. I modified them a bit to my taste. 🙂
I also removed some walls that I didn't liked anymore.
(see first post)
Now we have 20 wallpapers. The last one is a beautyful wall from NyankoSensei.
See first post for preview and download.
Pack updated with two more wallpapers from NyankoSensei three from me. See first post.
