To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hey! Don't jump so close to the pad! How rude!

Arrakkh & Marcel's screenshots are on deck at ModDB. Thanks guys! :curtsey:
Also a bump for Walterar's Scout mod. :queen:
This picture demonstrates what you can do with mods. I'm running Scout Plus with my Vuzz skybox mod and a control panel by Skydive.

I've been making mods of Skydive's control panels to test them out. I'll post them if anyone's interested.

...interested! 🙂
interested :prankster:
Yea, go on Marcel and if you can do a selection of nice shots of your various panels I will even give them a bump on ModDB with links if you upload em. :queen:
OK, but no panels this time. I just wanted to show you my neighbours at Jobs Pad with Scout Plus and my hometowns mod.
This is the best space station EVER!

Although I did have to suit up for the outside shot.
"This is the best space station EVER!"
Yes I agree. Fluffy did an amazing job getting them in there. :girldance: Also, just presently uploading the March build to ModDB. Marcel? Expect your screen shots to appear shortly, many thanks! And I will leave a link in the gallery to the lovely panels Skydrive created. :curtsey:

Does anyone else think that this planet could use some more space stations? You know, to fill in that gap?
[attachment=3044:Screenshot from 2015-04-26 07:48:58.png]
hah! Where is that Marcel I have to see that 😀
I thought you'd be able to tell because Gliese 526e is in the background amidst all the clutter.
I'm planning to do me some package deliveries! :santaclaus:
After that I'm going to see if I can find Arrakkh's canyon. Hm, that would be a good name for it!

Is that the Qo'noS system you discovered there Marcel? :girlcrazy:
Marcel's crazy station filled picture and Arrakkh's amazing canyon discovery as well as two of his other images are on deck! Many thanks Marcel & Arrakkh. :queen:
@Geraldine, It took me a while to get that Qo'noS reference!
So anyway, I'm doing lots of boring package deliveries around Reese to make up the money I lost from the murder and piracy charges I incurred when, through no fault of my own, a small ship launched while I was attempting to land and blew itself up on my shields. I admit, I was drunk at the time and might have been able to disengage my autopilot had my reflexes been unimpaired. It just goes to show you that in Pioneer, as in real life, if you have enough money you can get away with anything. I had hull damage too.
Here's some shots from a speed control docking.

I'm getting a feeling of Deja Vu about this. I don't know the percentage of planets that have an excessive number of orbiting stations, but it makes me wonder if the algorythm needs to be tweaked. This is Wise Colony, Gliese 701 (-4,-1,-1). It's another great place to pick up some easy cash delivering packages.

Here's where I landed.

These are from Scout+22f.
Beautiful shot!

Great shots again there Marcel and as for the Qo'noS reference...... :curtsey:
Yes there does seem to be a lot of stations about. I don't know its kinda a fun thing to see on orbital approach. I know this isn't the place but one thing I'd like to see is more agri or high techs world mixed in with the mining colonies to help make trading a little easier. Everywhere I go tends to want and sell the same things. Maybe its just me being in the wrong place at the wrong time as per usual. :girlcrazy:
Anyways its getting near that time again folks so if you have some cool screen shots please post em! :girlwitch:
Hmm, seems like you've found an interesting bug there Marcel.
If you go into the navigation screen you can see that there are a bunch more spacestations in orbit. A complete ring of them in fact, it's just that only the first 14 of them show up in the comm's listing or on-screen!
Very very strange.
EDIT: or not, looks like I was just miscalculating the distribution of the orbiting stations and I've got a patch PR that fixes it.
I've created a new issue to track placing them in more interesting orbits in the future too.
Big thanks to Marcel for his images this month for both Pioneer & Scout. They are on deck at ModDB. :curtsey:
Thanks, Geraldine! Unfortunately, I'm on dial-up on a different computer for a while and won't be able to post screenshots. I have several saved on my Pioneer computer. I've been following Arrakkh's tour guide. Along the way I found a system with two locations that used my last name. I'm playing Scout Plus and Walterar put my name into the name generator. You'd think that I would have gotten a discount for being a family member but I had to pay full price for everything. I've been to Burch's Grave in Hoak, the most Earth-like world I've seen, if you're on the side lit by the yellow sun. When I was there the suns were opposite on both sides, so it had no night side. I'm currently in the Urur system. Arrakkh's Canyon is on a planet called Bonner's Folly but there is no planet with that name in the system. I think that the modifications in Scout Plus may have changed the names. There are only three named planets in a close binary system so I should be able to find it if it's there in my version. I'll be taking screenies on the way.
I will look forward to that Marcel, fly safe out there! :queen:
