🙂 I filled up my car the other day and luckily I am allowed to work from home most of the time so a tank of gas can last 2wks. Gas going up a little though its almost $4 gal for premium in NH.

I find it very hard to believe a billion dollar company doesn't have a backup plan....? This is a huge money maker for them so keeping it flowing benefits them so you would think they could recover quickly from this. But in the end maybe they will make more as prices rise haha greedy bastards.

I also heard like the Michigan or Minnesota governor is trying to shutdown another pipeline because it 'might' leak, even though the company has never had a failure. And nevermind that the pipeline also provides fuel to Canada.

Seems like the USA is getting worse and worse... our politicians think money can be created out of thin air. Ugh, I really do think people are trying to wreck our economy. If people are paying attention to our news here you will see that businesses are now closing because people are not willing to work cause the govt pays them more to stay home.....? wtf.... I been working everyday since I was 14. We can't all sit at home and get free money.

The oil pipelines stuff is just compounding the issues here.... wish I had enough savings to move to new location 🙂

A major US fuel pipeline has reportedly paid cyber-criminal gang DarkSide nearly $5m in ransom, following a cyber-attack.

$5m? That's peanuts to the company! Probably way less than it'd cost them to have proper cyber-security/back-up plans!

You maybe right there, I think they said damages were in the billions so yeah paying the 5mil ransom would have been well worth paying.

I have just been wondering why there is no urgency to this situation, its like all parties are dragging their feet on purpose. Its not hard to run some safety/security checks on everything and turn it all back on 🙂

Latest reporting I've seen is that they did pay the ransom and were decrypting everything, but realized they couldn't figure out how to properly bill everyone while it was decrypting, so they decided to shut it down.

I just find it weird that DarkSide is disbanding after they make 5mil? They said their servers and web presence was affected because of all of the negative attention..... with 5mil you can make a new presence. Seem weird to give up after making 5mil 😉

They'll probably reappear at some point under a new name!
