To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Just saw this on Xbox Dashboard and I didn't see a thread about it yet, so I thought I'd make one. An alien invasion film is coming out in a little less than a month, here's the trailer:
Saw the trailer a few times already cause I like the special effects. I am surely waiting to see this movie ... I just hope I wont be disappointed.

But the movie does look promising and I hope it lives up to the hype.
Have a read of some the user reviews and comments on IMDB.
I have to say that this movie did warrant the hype because it was really good and it was better than what I expected. The camera angles were great and the movie did really decent job on the battles with the aliens. And when you watch the extras you really have to give it to the actors for doing what they did against a blue screen. When watching this you see how Skyline probably took some ideas from this movie. But I really like the aliens in this movie, so props to the fx dept.
I would give this movie a 87% and probably one of the better alien/scifi movies that has come out the past 2-3yrs.
the enemy was different, but it was a war story, through and through. yeah, they where marines, and im army. but i honestly felt alot of understanding to the situation. the movie was excellently crafted to tell a soldiers story while being guilded with an enemy unknown.
