To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I thought this was a really good series so far it covers, books, video games and films.... really good and there was a few surprises of movies or games I haven't heard of or seen... deserves a watch:

Thanks for sharing those materials! I've enjoyed every second of them.

Love this genre. Cyberpunk plots are often built around the conflict between hackers, artificial intelligence, and mega-corporations and gravitate towards Earth's near future rather than the distant future or galactic perspectives found in classic science fiction novels. Also in cyberpunk, the possibilities for the existence of civil rights and obligations in AI are presented, as in a human mind loaded into a computer, which has reason and introspection. This again raises the question that the presence of reason, comparable to human, should give such substances rights and status similar to human ones.

I know that they haven't released any DLC yet so they are way behind on their timeline so I guess they are still bug squashing is my guess. I have too many games as it is 😉 but I was just gonna wait to see if the pull a Hello Games and really ramp up the effort to resurrect this game from the bad press it got on release. I would have thought they would have went crazy on this.... but Hello Games also went silent for a while and then started pumping out content (and still is). So I will give CDPR some time to see what they do and I will checkout this game maybe next year.

I have watched a few videos of modders and how they are basically fixing the game and improving it greatly with balancing and things like that. So I guess time will tell..

Been thinking about picking it up on the PS4 but would like to see it more complete, so it might be worth hanging on a bit longer.

You would think that CDPR would have more on the ball with this given that they are pretty big games dev, apparently worth about 8 billion according to Wikipedia, which is no small chicken feed.

I would probably hold off on the PS4 version and maybe stick to PC or PS5 later, haven't heard good things about last gen consoles and CyberPunk.... plus I think PC would be the only way to play this one with the mods that I have seen
