Most Epic Idea I Ever Had

I've had this epic idea for a franchise for a while now and I was wondering how others think about it.

It takes place in a future where a political idea dedicated to suppressing the rich and powerful which I named "Damoclesi" (which lacks the suffix "-ism" like Rastafari because "-ism" is overused) has controlled the world and has lead to the creation of an organisation dedicated to removing all corruption form the world which is ether "The Order of Damocles" or "The Damocles Foundation" because I can't think of a name for it.

Any way they are an incorruptible force that is made up of mostly people with mental disorders who are trained to be brutally honest and react violently to bribes of any monetary value. They are also not allowed to harm civilians but have the power to "detain" members of anyone with power in the political and economic world and have the population decide on their fate. They also have a no mercy policy when it comes to hate gropes and extremist organizations. Individually, they are known as Regulators and many of them have a custom uniform type of style where each of them have both standard, and personal equipment which makes each and every one of them unique. Lastly a large amount of them have bayonets and other melee weapons attached to their guns which makes them even more deadly.

And this is where the derelicts come in.

After an brief extraterrestrial war with space neo-nazis using strange technologies it is discovered that across the outer solar system and beyond are the remains of massive derelicts belonging to an ancient alien race. Many of these derelicts show signs of combat yet also signs of being turned off halfway through the battle leaving many wondering why. The technology of these derelicts are mostly theoretical and are somewhat impossible to understand.

Luckily there are robots.

Sometime after the "Great Reform" an error within the programming of an automatic vacuum cleaner creates the worlds first sentient robot. Unfortunately it was completely insane and after connecting  to the internet filled the worlds computers with furries. After that happened other robots and computers with internet access began displaying blunt behavior and demanded civil rights along with the entire continent of Antarctica. A few weeks later the Antarctic Collective was founded and became the worlds new leader in manufacturing. Since then, the robots and computers who founded this country began to evolve into various forms. The most common are simply robots, then the supercomputers, sentient blobs of grey goo, androids who want to mimic humans(Although they are the living embodiment of the uncanny valley), and others I cannot think about.

Some of these robots helped with the research of the technologies that made up the derelicts and helped with the creation of a translate device for the first alien race to officially meet humanity.

And now the aliens.

Their are two alien races I could flesh out.

The First have no flesh because they are made completely out of dark-matter and are energy beings in a way. Their history could be traced back to a massive industrial incident that game birth to their existence. You see, they're home-system was originally a massive dark matter storage and refinery facility created by the same race that made the derelicts around Sol. A millennium later they developed sentience and began an endless war over the various abandoned facilities for dark matter to eat. This war ended with the activation of an automatic ship designed to gather dark-matter that viewed them as resources and I need to sleep.

Now since you mentioned the idea of franchise I can see some of what your discussing coming into play over time, because just with the few paragraphs you wrtoe up you have a lot of material you could work with, crap just the robots on Antarctica could be very interesting if done well. Now in franchise do you mean books, board games or video games?

I have the impression that it's more like two different ideas, I don't see where the top paragraph fit in with the rest.

I just rote a bunch of information and accidentally destroyed it all

Now then, this ship destroyed stuff and killed millions until it was destroyed by using an ancient super weapon and they had depressing victory. Their biology could be described as a solid sphere of dark matter that controls a cloud made out of a plasma like substance that can be manipulated to mimic solid surfaces and can brake under large amounts of force and weight back to its original form and can also change their shape into a three dimensional silhouette and can make parts of themselves glow. Their technology lacks in some places but exceeds in dark based technology. When dealing with humans they would have a humanoid shape and glowing white "eyes" and wear a large hat that creates a field of dark energy that deflects large amounts of light because large amounts of light is painful to them. Finally, At one point I wanted to name them the obscura but The Last Federation already used it.

Also the Damocles idea I made has a massive impact on the economy and politics and because of the lack of corruption in the political and economic world, they now focus on secret organisations who they are always watching and sometimes hunting.

It is a possible book and video game franchise about exploring the derelicts I mentioned in the beginning. Next time I will discuss the Last alien race I can never think of a name of.

The next alien race I can't create a name for are very, very, diverse and since I didn't just accidentally delete something I will write this better than the last reply.

During their evolutionary history, they where on their way to becoming the standard never ending, always eating, and evolving swarm of biological horrors. This stopped when an attempt to simplify large scale management caused a massive shift in their evolutionary development. Originally, they lived in a hierarchy/hive-like system that was based on biological "strands". The most powerful stand was the empress strand which had complete control over all lesser strands through an impossible to understand psionic thing. Below the empress is the queen strand which act almost independently but required commands from the empress in order to operate properly. And below where lesser queens or "duchesses" who require commands from queens in order to properly function and below them are the mindless workers who need to be ordered by there mothers in order to function at all. Any way, back then the queens where ordered to work on various projects that where to advance there species both biologically and technologically. This system was destroyed during the attempt I mentioned earlier and caused many of the ruling strands to go insane and fight each other to the death which began to the Age of Madness. The only one who didn't go insane was a queen whose former job was to research mental evolution and because of that she was the first one of her kind to develop certain emotions that the other strands didn't have access to so she was able to remain stable and somewhat sane. Because of the constant fighting on her homeworld she went into hiding underground and stayed hidden with some of her workers that morphed into independent lesser queens so that she could rebuild their homeworld. After a thousand years of hiding she reemerged to discover that many of her kind have devolved into various feral and deadly forms, most being unrecognizable from what they once where.

However their where a few sentient remnants left. Some where lesser queens who built heavily fortified cities and lived a life of luxury while isolating themselves from the conditions of the world. Others evolved into immobile super organisms that are rooted into the ground and sometimes acted as homes for other beings. But the most populous of them all (minus the countless workers) where beings who took smaller forms (which is roughly the size of a human) and lived without any one below them. Also some evolved into sentient plants and fungi (or at least control some).

Of course if it wasn't for being able to absorb genetic data they would all have died and their world would be empty.

Anyway, because of the problem that ferals where to everyone she became a mercenary who worked for genetic data and overtime cleansed the world of most ferals except a few that where domesticated by the smaller ones (I really need to give these guys names). So With the ferals gone she, realizing that despite the massive amounts of free land no one was expanding fast enough, gathered various sentient strands who specialized in science and engineering and began plans to accelerate their technological growth. Years later they went to space and discovered a derelict on their moon that had a device that might have been responsible for The age of Madness.

And then they made first contact with the dark-matter aliens I mentioned before who came to their stars system in search for other derelicts(this happened right before contact with humans).

tl;dr... noblebright feral zerg.

The setting:

According to common science fiction tropes, once humanity gains some form of faster than light, they spread everywhere and infest the galaxy. However since most of humanity is living in a somewhat socialist, secular, center-left state with advances in technology and innovation plus the fact that happiness slows population growth, less people are colonizing and more are exploring.

This creates a setting where there is less expansion and more discovery. Which allows for there to be a massive focus on the derelicts since they are the only interesting thing nearby besides the mega-structures everyone seems to be making for some reason. Also it shows how the various species react with each other.

My plans are to create books that detail this society and the derelicts the affect them all.

My other plan involves creating something like a dungeon crawler that involves the exploration of these derelicts and other remnants of whoever left them behind.

How this works is through a system where smaller derelicts act as "Mini Dungeons" which will have similar insides depending on their ship classification. However each ship will be different in their own way through various means. These include but not limited to: "special" rooms, biological horrors, robotic horrors, eldritch artifacts, possibly explosive objects, broken doors, and tons of loot. Also they can be towed to a space station if your ship is big enough or you hired someone else to tow it.

Larger derelicts will act like a world in their own way. Due to their massive size and battle damage many people have constructed outposts within them. These outposts will act as a place where you can get a steady supply of derelict technology to upgrade your ship and personal equipment or transport them to space stations for research alongside with expedition missions within said derelicts. Overtime these larger ones will become somewhat repaired and will have a skeletal frame surrounding them and they would be under control by whoever restored it.

Next time I will talk about the starting positions.

Actually that's getting off topic so i'll go for more settings involving technology and i'm very terrible at doing this.

The technology of the setting is based off of hard science and Cthulhu in a way. How this is possible I have no idea but it is the best hand wave I can come up with for the strange things you will encounter during the excavations of derelicts and study of their technology.

So here is society because that is all i could think up of.

So our setting has four mostly different yet overpowered species/robots that are friends with each other mostly because they have nothing to fight over and are somewhat in a golden age of exploration.

How they benefit each other is through the sharing of ideas and technologies. Humanity and the dark-matter aliens both benefit from each other through the study of hybrid technologies. The evolving aliens and robots have vast armies of drones at their disposal so they pretty much own the manufacturing industry and can mass-produce mega-structures. Also together they have created advanced cybernetics for longer living plus the evolving aliens can actually cultivate large amounts of anything that is biological and have a massive understanding of chemical science and might actually accidentally unlocked immortality but its still too early to truly know while the robots have supercomputers that break reality and grey goo which makes mining easier and faster along with their personal goal of creating a device that can brake the universe in an attempt to create a post scarcity economy and possibly ascend to a higher plane of infinity. Also the singular biological aliens, due to the uncanny valley, have evolved human and animal-like characteristics while looking like those weird things on deviant art that despite looking like furries are not furries because they are their own original species even though they pretty much are furries or else why wouldn't the be on the anthro section unless.... OK so some look like furries but its mostly optional since others would take the forms of biological monstrosities because why not?

Lastly I just realized that if used properly, the engine for the game overgrowth can become the ultimate tool for a machinima and that this is the most out of place thing I ever wrote.

I would like to add a spot.

All these great ideas come to dystopia.

It makes people as it seems true now. Exploding with technology to the ‘golden exploration age’.

From the first models of the Solar system, the first satellite reaches to have a glimpse of what is beyond our sight in space. There is a lot of science, lots of theory (which becomes confirmed in backbone theories of Stephen Hawking). Still the main subject is the dark matter, the boundaries, life out there.

A very good idea to push imagination to what will happen to humanity, what mistakes we have learned from history and what new wins and loses the exploration brings.

‘Un chiffre, une lettre, une note’ - all in it (Viktor Hugo).
