To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

The latest OMEGA ship model is up for show; a 'PLC Heavy Corvette' joins the three ship line-up.
A 6 man ship with 4 medium fixed weapons mounts [FW-M] and a medium [M] turret point, these craft normally form the pointed end of QRF (Quick Reaction Force) response to an incursion.
This puppy is 2.5x the size of the Light Corvette, so you can imagine how big its carrier is going to be!
View the 3D turntable over on the blog.
Nice looking models (as always)
Question on the crew aspect of the ships when they are deployed/used. During any combat can crew members themselves be hurt thus bringing down the effectiveness of the ship when its on mission?

It's an interesting mechanic which I think suits a TBS rather than a RTS.
Truth be told, when the action kicks off, the player will potentially be under enough stress without having to worry about invisible mechanics - to that end we're focusing on the obvious stuff that people can see: Sector furniture causing status effects, special weapons delivering statuses being two examples.
That said if we find that the gameplay can afford more of these sorts of details it's easy enough to add them in during Early Access, but it would be far harder to remove them (or in-fact; the burden of their mistake) from the game later if our suppositions turned out to be true...
