To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I really enjoy modeling but putting textures is another story. Well anyways here is my mothership I'm working on for Miner Wars.
This is part of the front of the ship. I tried to make it look like a loading dock.
This is part of the back of the ship, not sure what it is but i need to fill in some empty space.
Can we get a view of the entire ship ? Also, how many polys you have so far ?
This inside the ship Chebar, like a hanger bay?
i will post the rest of the ship tommorow, i want to fix a few things first. I'm not really sure what a poly is yet but if the 3 to 1 ratio is true. then around 25,000 polys. I need to add more detail but if the ratio is true then i'm running out of polys that i can use.
Both those pics are taking from outside the ship. If i understand it right your going to zone into a ship to do your selling and what nots, so i am trying to make it look like a factory ship from the outside.

Still looking to add more, I'm just not sure what yet. As you see it now it has 80,471 vertexes. I'm still lost on now many i should have. So I'm not sure if I have to many or not enough.
So is that fueling area is the concept that it is a fully automated system I take it?
And this is my opinion, on the engines you might want to recess them into the ship a little they are a little large, maybe take off that first section closest to the ship.
Chebar any new pics of the mothership?
not yet, I'm reworking the design. I had to many polys in the front and back. I also need to make it look less boatish. Making a solid mothership is a pain, so much surface to work with. I'll have something soon.
