Really like the look of this, seem to be some sort of shooter but it would make a great start for a space adventure game as I think it has the feel of Sundog/Megatraveller to it. Not much on the website http://atomicspacecommand.noyoushutupgames.com/ but the devs have put some videos up to look at including a short playthrough of the game and you can sign up for a Alpha at the website. Not sure if this is an online only game but it has a single player/ multiplayer option.
Howdy! I'm the developer behind this game (Atomic Space Command). Thanks for making a post about it! We need to get more stuff up on the website, we've been heads down getting ready for PAX South in a couple weeks (we've got a booth there). I'm happy to answer any questions and possibly get you guys a super alpha build if you like.

Atomic Space Command definitely has some nice gameplay elements this early in development.
How many players will be able to participate in a match to capture the most planets/bases?
You mentioned having other human players being part of your crew. Will players be able to die with no fault of their own? Meaning your ship is taking a pounding attacking a base and you have some redshirts inside on the weapons and shields and the ship takes a nasty hit can your human player die or be injured enough not to be able to continue supporting you?
Welcome to the forums Tim.
Single big question for me is their an offline single player game or is it just an online multiplayer game only.

At the moment we have a theoretical limit of 128 players in a match, but there's a good deal over headroom there when we start scaling. Those players can be distributed in as many ways across different ships as you can think of.
As for how the crew works, players join a ship and add in components and crew members. You personally don't have an avatar on the ship, it's like a collection of toys. You bring your action figures and put them in the ship and have a god's eye view of them. We've got two types of action figures, Atomic Commanders (these are like our heros / champions) and the redshirt crew.
The redshirts are can die, xcom style. They all have a small upgrade / tech tree, and the longer you keep them alive the better they will repair / buff your equipment in the ship. The Atomic Commanders don't die, they can get knocked out but you won't lose them forever. As these guys die and become unconcious your ability to control your ship will get more and more limited. We're still working all of those systems out and would love to get some feedback and suggestions from you guys.

Thanks! Happy to be here!
You are totally able to play this offline as a single player! Right now the game is mission based with each gameplay session being 5 to 20 minutes long. You have objections for the mission and can upgrade your equipment and research new tech. Some of the larger ships will be kind of hard to run if you're the only player on-board, but we're hoping we can get some good AI systems and quick controls in place so that it's not too much of a pain.

Excellent news, look forward to seeing some more of the game.
New play through video giving some instructions on how to play.
Not a fan of mult-payer games but I have to say that does looks pretty good.
Updated how to play video.
New trailer up for the game.
Look like you can no longer download the Alpha and theirs an announcement coming soon.
Not checked the site, but I guess this must be the announcement that they have a EA page on Steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/445350/ starting sometime in the fall. (is that Autumn)
Game should hitting EA this Friday. http://steamcommunity.com/games/445350/announcements/detail/969787864592065072

Cadets,
As sometimes happen, things change! We have some bad news, and some super sweet news.
The bad news is we are pushing the release date for Early Access to October 13, 2016 - this will let us ramp up our outreach efforts for the launch more effectively, and let us get in a big ol' feature that is gonna be amazing! So, not so bad, really.
The super sweet news is that we are updating the Early Access pricing of Atomic Space Command to be $14.99! That's 5 spacebucks back in your pocket!
We hope to see you building, flying and conquering in just two short weeks!
