Hi folks,

I wanted to start a topic about a forgotten space mmorpg Earth and Beyond, published by EA in the year 2001 and shut down not long after that. A small fan community managed to get this game back online again. This runs under the name Earth and Beyond Emulator Project.

EnB is basicaly a typical mmorpg. You create a charakter from a set of races and classes(you can also design the style of your ship), you do quest, grind for experience, craft stuff and group with other players to do group quests and raids.

But the atmosphere is great, the combat systems work well and the game flow is well done. I also like the possible to view the bridge of your ship, its a nice alternative to the first and third person view. The Background lore and story is nice immersive.

The charakter system is quite complex and the different classes feel and play very different.

Just give it a try. The game its free.

Never forgotten, I remember playing the beta for this classic. I just haven't tried it when they brought it back because it still had some quirks. Is it rock solid now Grimm and have they added anything new above the original content?

I wouldn't call it rock solid but they improved it over the last years. They restored almost all the original content and added new content as well. There are 3 new classes and new raids as far as i could investigate. They also try to add new content every month.

The game runs mostly very fluid. I played it for the last 2 days for some hours with no lag. Only the character creation had some issues, i had to restart 3 times before my char was on the server. There is also a chance that you have to restart the client after you get shot down.

But overall it is very playable, the quests worked without flaws and i had no ctd's. They also patch the game every month so the development is very active.

If you have some sparetime than you sould try it, especially if you liked the beta.
