10 games for 2015 but first lets have a look back at last years list http://spacesimcentral.com/ssc/topic/4234-ten-games-for-2014/ so out of the list Kinectic Void, Approaching Infinity and Void Destroyer are all out and being updated.

Interstelleria,Rodina and Pulsar are all in their Alpha/Beta and are being regular updated, Enemy Starfighter and Rogue System should with some luck be making an appearance this year. And finally Wayfarer and SkyJacker both have become lost in space and only time will tell if they will return.

So onto 2015 list and as last years list it will contain no games with names like Star Citizen, No Mans Sky or Valkyrie in the title.

Darkfield VR http://www.darkfield-vr.com/

A mult-player mission driven co op space shooter with support for Rift and other  upcoming  VR devices along with a Single player game mode and also a free roam mode around the stations and ships.

After a successful Kickstarter a few months ago the game is progressing as they have released an early demo of the game to Kickstart backer with other being able to support the game through the site some time in the coming year, and with the game being ported to Unity 5 we should be seeing more of it next year.

Support for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Limit Theory http://ltheory.com/

Procedural generated space trading combat game with Planetary interaction IIRC not seamless, also the ability to own fleets, stations, and building on planets and build you empire within the game.

After a successful Kickstarter 2 years ago the game is nearing completion and should be out this year. An early prototype was made available to backers of the game but since then their has been nothing.Hopefully he will use the backers as beta tester before releasing the game.

Support for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Spaz 2 http://minmax-games.com/SpacePiratesAndZombies2/

Two hundred persistent Captains that are able to do everything the player can, including forming dynamic factions, building structures, controlling territory, and going to War.A true living galaxy that is not player centric. Time based galactic story events that happen whether the player is ready or not. Single player and Mult-player arena mode.

Look like they will be doing an early access though Steam although their has been no announcement yet apart from 1Q 2015

Support for Windows

Torch ships http://torchships.com/

A tactical space combat with some exploration based on real physics with procedurally generated single and multi-player open worlds. There will be some rpg/rogue-like elements, but very little crafting/grinding/leveling. Progression is ship based, not character based-starting with a small pod or MMU then working you way to bigger craft. Single player and mult-player modes.

The game orgnial had an unsuccessful Kickstarter two years ago and the games developer john carlgillespie shelved it but it reappeared in the summer and he has been making some progress with it since then.their is an early access option on the site and a prototype was announced to be available this month (Dec 2014) but sofar nothing has appeared. NOTE THAT EARLY ACCESS HAS BEEN SUSPENDED.

Support for Windows, Mac/IPad and maybe Linux.

Shallow Space http://shallow-space.com/

A RTS as you command elements of the Terran Confederate Navy's Gamma fleet as you progress a diverse set of random encounters and scripted missions played out on a grand campaign map. An epic story awaits you as you prove your worth against the enemies of the Terran Empire. Design your fleet, building smaller ships to supplement your capital class vessels. Level your officers, strategically position your forces throughout the stellar system to combat insurgency. You will command factories and control the future of your fleet, but you are not building an economy.

Should be the subject of a Kickstarter this year and presumably we should see the early access version will being made available.

Supports Windows, Mac and Linux version to follow.

Wings of Saint Nazaire http://www.wingsofstnazaire.com/

Wing commander clone made in Unity with a retro style looks awesome, you can download a demo of the game and their has been a fair few updates over 2014 but no news about any future plans apart from "it's done when it's done".

Support for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Nova Voyager http://www.novavoyager.com/

Travel among the stars, explore planets and starports along with trading and combat in a procedurally generated 1:1 universe based on the real one with seamless planetary flight.

A Beta Mac/ISO version is promised for early in 2015 with a windows port following the summer and will also support the rift.Still very early in it development but one to watch.

Supports Mac, IOS. Windows and Android.

Interstellar Rift http://www.interstellarrift.com/

Interstellar Rift is a First Person Starship Simulator with an emphasis on open world exploration and multiplayer interaction featuring Customize ships with ships interiors and the ability to build  stations.

Being made primarily as a mult-player game but will have a signal player component and their have been a number of updates this year and their is a demo on the site to download.

Supports Windows.

VoidExpanse http://voidexpanse.com/

procedurally generated 2D action-RPG  Explore the vast, open reaches of the VoidExpanse, mine asteroids for valuable resources, trade with space stations and merchants to improve your ship or complete quests, advance your character with skills from diverse skill-trees, survive fast-paced combat with hostile aliens and mercenaries. Also supports Muliplayer and modding of the game.

You can buy into the early access of the game and it has been regularly updated over the last few months along with it's impending release on Steam should give the game a boost.

Supports  Windows, Mac and Linux.

http://galactic-princess.com/

2D RPG where you can build your own ship and manage your crew's abilities: from repelling intruders on your ship, to boosting the ship's systems.then dive into an epic adventure through deep space to find the princess to restore peace, and rule the universe.

Bit of an odd one as it throw just about everything into the mix, so far no release although they did have a successful Kickstarter back in Dec 2013. their have been a number of updates over the last year so expect to see some thing this year.

Supports Windows

Thank you! As I don't have as much time to follow this website as I used to, I didn't even know most of these existed.

I wonder how many of these will actually be released (full release and not early access)? I would say 7/10 will get done this year. But I can't wait for Limit Theory, that is the only game I regret doing the kickstarter for.

Keeping up with all space releases is next to impossible. That's a good sign at any rate.

I am new to this forum and excited to find spacesim games like these. I am developing a recreation of the full motion simulator from 1983, saker-one. It will be interesting to try some of these games with this new system.
