To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

URGENT: tomorrow war factor K:

Estimable Member

As the title explains: this is urgent and should be highlighted:

I have been in communication lately with 1C executive Peter King and I have asked him numerous questions regarding the tomorrow war and it's add-on factor K, and it seems I have alarming news:

While the tomorrow war barely made it into retail release, plans for a patch are still underway, but whether those efforts will be seriously undertaken is yet to be decided...

More alarming still, factor K will NOT be released outside russia, as the tomorrow war problems have no doubt cast a shadow on that title. Therefore, it is feared that this very much awaited space sim will not come to us by conventional means...

However, after voicing my concerns about our interest regarding those titles and the fact that we still desired copies, Mr King has asked me to give him an entimation of the numbers of copies of factor K we might be wishing for: therefore I invite all of you to post in this thread should you wish for a copy... Perhaps this way, 1C will be able to still propose them to us, although the english translation problem will have to be addressed much later I'm afraid...

I know that I will certainly ask for a copy, but the rest is up to you. This thread will be pointed at to Mr King: perhaps this will help 1C a little regarding their choices concerning the tomorrow war saga...

Your posts are awaited.

starlord.

I'm not sure I would even buy a untranslation version of any game personally. But if it was handed to me I would help with the translation efforts. I don't know Russian but there is plenty of translation tools that could speed up the process.

I'm not sure if the internationlized version of The Tomorrow War was rushed but I have read of the flaws on the 1C forums and i do hope they get fixed for the people that currently own the game. I know once I read the 1C forums and other reviews it turned me away.

I know there was plans for a sequel and was just hoping all would come together. I'm sure there would be a lot of people interested in helping do some translations if 1C would give access for people to do it for Tomorrow War and Factor K

I just recieved word that unfortunately, factor K is not a standalone therefore, a russian version of the tomorrow war is also needed 😥 . So those planning on getting factor K will also have to settle for buying tomorrow war...

That wouldn't even be bad news if Factor K fixes all issues with the original game? It would be tough to warrant the purchase if they didn't bother to fix the flaws with the first knowing that Factor K might not be translated like The Tomorrow War currently is.

Actually a patch has been develloped unofficially by 1C members to help with those issues (given the situation, that's a miracle as it is!)...

Also, scratch my last post: factor K is stand alone, so tomorrow war copies would not be a necessity.

Iam okay with it being the Russian version as long as there a fan translation patch in the works.

Has the Russian version been fixed or is there a patch for it?.

Well, we are still unsure about who would do the translation, however, it would befinately be an option... And to have a copy of kactor K when that happens would be interesting I take it...

You could put me down for one too if you wish but honestly I don't think 5-10 copies or even 50-100 copies is going to have any impact. I'm thinking he was just being polite with you.

Uugh. Count me out. The first game was a waste of ten perfectly good pounds, in my very strong and vengeful opinion. I won't be wasting any more time, money or imagination on this drek. 👿
