To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

It seems that bulk of recent threads in Classic/Retro - Starshatter category has been nuked. It looks like this also applies to some random threads from my recent RSS feed and... my account. Maybe it's related to Working on a new site but I didn't see any pointers to this kind of behaviour in that topic, so I'm leaving a fresh topic just for your information.
Really... ugh. I don't think I messed with any posts in this section, my work is being done in a entirely different database. I will see if I have any recent backup for the posts. If I did do this I am sorry it would have been an accident. But I haven't even imported posts yet in my work only forums themselves and I didn't alter any data to my knowledge.
Thank you for the update @aki, you wouldn't happen to have any timestamps to when this occurred so I know where to look?
Looks like we are missing a thread from the introduction forum which was posted about a week ago as well.
The latest post that I have in my RSS feed but is not available here is Re: is this dead? [dead link] (likely what Pinback is referring to). Date is 2024-10-25 10:42 CEST. Interestingly post by the same author quoted by Pinback in Re: UFO's and Conspiracy is also gone. The latest post from Starshatter forums in my feed is from 2024-05-14, 22:59 CEST (Re: Monthly (or so) multiplayer sessions [dead link]).

It seems the Classic/Retro - Starshatter category had major thread removals, possibly due to site updates. Have admins addressed this? Other categories affected too?
Yes it seem to have been a bit of an issue, D1 will probably know more about it than I do.
As far as I know no other categories got affected just starshatter, I honestly don't know how it happened. I tried looking for a old backup of the DB and didn't find one on my desktop. I will continue to look to see if I can resurrect some of the older posts.
I know I didn't purposely delete threads, I know I did some clean up of some spammers but that usually only affects the posts they create not entire topics. I will have to see if I can find a backup somewhere.
